Chapter 130 Qin Chengyu’s Masterclass in Tea

Ning Liang'an nodded.

"Qin Chengyu might seem cold to others, but Father, Dad, and I—we can all see how good he is to you. You two are clearly so close—why should you let those gossipers drag your names through the mud?"

He puffed up his cheeks indignantly.

"I want them to see just how well Qin Chengyu treats you. I want to shut them up. Jinsui, I didn’t mean to hide it from you—please don’t be mad at me, okay?"

"How could I be mad when you’re just looking out for me?" Nian Jinsui smiled. "But Liang’an, people will talk no matter what. We can’t control their mouths, and we shouldn’t let it bother us too much."

Mentally, Nian Jinsui was a few years older than Ning Liang’an, so he had a more easygoing perspective.

"I know that logically, but… I just can’t stand hearing them badmouth you,"

Ning Liang’an muttered under his breath.

"You’re too good to me."

Nian Jinsui chuckled and ruffled Ning Liang’an’s hair affectionately.

Ning Liang’an stayed a while longer before finally leaving the Qin residence, but not without one last reminder:

"Don’t forget—you and Qin Chengyu have to go to that charity auction!"

After seeing him off, Nian Jinsui found himself lost in thought.

He’d always assumed Qin Chengyu and Ning Liang’an were like little brothers to him. But with Qin Chengyu, his face would flush, his heart would race—none of which happened when he was with Ning Liang’an.

Maybe what he felt for Ning Liang’an was genuine brotherly affection, but what he felt for Qin Chengyu…

Was something more.

Qin Corporation.

"President Qin, there’s a charity auction next weekend. Will you be attending?"

Luo Qiao stood in front of the desk, organizing Qin Chengyu’s schedule for the coming week.

Qin Chengyu didn’t look up from the documents he was reviewing.

"No. If there’s anything noteworthy, bid on it for me and have it sent directly to Suisui."

"Understood. Speaking of Madam, there’s something I think you should know."

"What is it?"

The moment Nian Jinsui was mentioned, Qin Chengyu set down his pen and fixed Luo Qiao with his full attention.

"There have been some… unpleasant rumors circulating about Madam lately."

Luo Qiao relayed everything he’d heard—which aligned almost exactly with what Ning Liang’an had told Nian Jinsui.

Qin Chengyu’s gaze sharpened. He could brush off insults and mockery directed at himself, but not a single harsh word would be tolerated when it came to Nian Jinsui.

"That charity auction you mentioned earlier—make the arrangements. Suisui and I will attend."

"Understood. I’ll send you the auction catalog shortly. You may want to pay special attention to the final lot."

Nian Jinsui lounged against the headboard, absorbed in a novel, freshly showered.

Qin Chengyu climbed into bed beside him but refused to settle properly—instead, he shamelessly nestled his head onto Nian Jinsui’s lap.

Too engrossed in his book, Nian Jinsui ignored him—until Qin Chengyu suddenly spoke up.

"Suisui, I washed my hair earlier. It’s already dry."

"Mm."

Nian Jinsui hummed absently, still reading.

"Aren’t you going to pet me?"

The sudden shift in address made Nian Jinsui glance down.

"What’s gotten into you? Why are you acting like this all of a sudden?"

"Did Ning Liang’an visit today?"

"Yeah." Nian Jinsui paused,

then deliberately added,

"And he came alone."

"You patted his head."

Now that Butler Wu knew better than to slack off, he reported every little detail about Nian Jinsui’s activities to Qin Chengyu.

Nian Jinsui’s eyes widened.

"You’re jealous of Liang’an?! He’s like a little brother to me!"

Qin Chengyu thought to himself—

It’s not just Ning Liang’an.

Chu Heting, Chu Hejun, Ye Kang…

I keep tabs on every single person who gets close to you.

Unconvinced, Qin Chengyu countered,

"You used to say the same about me—that I was just a little brother. And yet, here we are, sharing the same bed."

Nian Jinsui scoffed.

"That’s completely different! Liang’an and I are literally on the same family register! And we’re both Omegas—what’s there for you to be jealous about?!"

"And I was just a Beta you never took seriously. Besides, you collect ‘little brothers’ like trophies. How am I supposed to know where I rank among them all?"

Qin Chengyu’s tone was dripping with faux innocence.

Nian Jinsui was speechless.

Since when did I become some kind of playboy?!

But he’d learned by now—arguing was pointless.

The fastest solution was to just indulge Qin Chengyu’s whims.

Tossing his phone aside, Nian Jinsui grabbed Qin Chengyu’s head and aggressively ruffled his hair.

"Happy now? Getting jealous over a head pat—you’re unbelievable."

"Mn."

Qin Chengyu wrapped his arms around Nian Jinsui’s waist, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.

Seeing that hint of satisfaction, Nian Jinsui sighed in exasperation—but also relief.

At least he’s easy to placate.

Just then, a notification popped up from the System.

[Mission Alert: Host is to attend the charity auction next weekend as a foil to highlight protagonist Ning Liang’an’s shining moment.]

So the mission’s arrived after all.

Nian Jinsui understood.

This was one of the novel’s key scenes—where the protagonist, radiant and flawless, would make a dazzling appearance with his lover, earning everyone’s admiration.

Meanwhile, the villainous Nian Jinsui, now a disgraced wreck, would serve as the pitiful contrast, making the audience cheer for his downfall.

But here’s the problem—

he was currently living the high life at the Qin residence, glowing with health and energy.

How the hell was he supposed to be Ning Liang’an’s tragic foil now?
