Nian Jinsui unwrapped the LEGO set and dumped all the pieces onto the carpet.
Carefully, he maneuvered himself off his wheelchair and sat on the floor, immediately starting to assemble the pieces.
Qin Chengyu, seated across from him, first picked up the instruction manual to study it.
“Come on, start building,”
Nian Jinsui said, pushing a small bag of LEGO pieces toward Qin Chengyu.
It was Qin Chengyu’s first time encountering LEGO.
After carefully examining the instructions, his movements were slower.
While he had only assembled a few pieces, Nian Jinsui had already completed a small portion.
“Look, I’ve nearly finished the car chassis,”
Nian Jinsui boasted.
“So, you’re not some magical beginner with a gaming halo in everything after all.”
Qin Chengyu glanced at the model in front of Nian Jinsui, then pointed to a specific section.
“You made a mistake here.”
“Impossible!”
Nian Jinsui retorted, immediately defensive.
Qin Chengyu handed him the instruction manual.
“Young Master Nian, take a look at this.”
Nian Jinsui squinted at the instructions and was rendered speechless.
He had made a mistake.
Is this villain even good at LEGO?
Reluctantly, Nian Jinsui admitted defeat.
“Uh… fine, you take over.”
Taking the partially assembled pieces, Qin Chengyu began correcting the error.
Nian Jinsui shuffled closer to watch him work, only to find himself distracted by Qin Chengyu’s hands.
Long, slender fingers with well-defined knuckles, neatly trimmed nails, and faintly visible veins running across his forearms—Qin Chengyu’s hands were surprisingly attractive.
His hands look great,
Nian Jinsui thought.
Mine used to look like this too—veins and all—before they became these soft, tender, Omega hands that seem ready to bruise at a touch.
The thought of his former Alpha physique dampened his mood for a moment, but he quickly shifted his focus.
Qin Chengyu is too thin.
From now on, he’d make sure to encourage him to eat more.
Qin Chengyu noticed Nian Jinsui inching closer but remained focused on the LEGO,
though his peripheral vision caught the faint purplish bruise on Nian Jinsui’s knee—the result of last night’s fall.
It looked darker now, suggesting he hadn’t applied any ointment.
But Qin Chengyu quickly looked away.
Whether or not Nian Jinsui treated his injuries had nothing to do with him.
After spending another hour in the game room, the two finally went downstairs for lunch.
With Nian Yixin absent, the dining table felt quieter with just Nian Jinsui and Qin Chengyu.
Despite the sparse company, the meal was as lavish as ever.
Qin Chengyu noticed the meat dishes placed in front of him and the vegetarian ones in front of Nian Jinsui.
He hadn’t expected the servants to actually follow Nian Jinsui’s instructions from the previous evening.
Oblivious to any issue, Nian Jinsui happily ate whatever he liked.
After a few bites, he noticed that Qin Chengyu hadn’t touched his food.
“Qin Chengyu, what are you waiting for? Eat. Remember, two bowls of rice minimum,”
Nian Jinsui reminded him.
Without a word, Qin Chengyu glanced at Nian Jinsui before quietly picking up his chopsticks to eat.
“Take a nap after lunch, and we’ll continue with the LEGO in the afternoon. Oh, right!”
Nian Jinsui suddenly turned to Butler Liu, who was standing nearby.
“Uncle Liu, how’s Qin Chengyu’s room coming along? Will it be ready by this afternoon?”
“Rest assured, Young Master, everything is on track.”
“Great. Then make sure to move Qin Chengyu’s belongings upstairs this afternoon. Thanks, Uncle Liu!”
“As you wish, Young Master,”
Butler Liu replied with a slight bow.
Qin Chengyu, the subject of this discussion, remained indifferent and unfazed.
In the afternoon, while Nian Jinsui and Qin Chengyu were in the game room, faint noises could be heard nearby.
Nian Jinsui pretended not to notice, saying casually,
“I asked them to clean the third floor thoroughly, so it might be a bit noisy.”
Qin Chengyu didn’t think much of it and continued focusing on the LEGO.
As the sky darkened, Butler Liu knocked on the door.
“Uncle Liu, is everything ready?”
Nian Jinsui asked as he wheeled himself toward the door.
“Yes, Young Master. The room has been prepared, and Young Master Qin’s belongings have been moved in as well.”
Butler Liu handed a box to Nian Jinsui.
“Here are the doorplates you requested.”
Taking the box, Nian Jinsui smiled.
“Perfect timing! Thanks, Liu Shu. That’ll be all for now.”
After Butler Liu left, Nian Jinsui rummaged through the box and pulled out a doorplate labeled
Game Room.
Handing it to Qin Chengyu, he said,
“Put this on the door.”
Though puzzled by the sudden request, Qin Chengyu complied and stuck the doorplate onto the game room door.
Noticing Qin Chengyu’s confusion, Nian Jinsui explained,
“You’ll be living on the third floor from now on. This is just to help you familiarize yourself with the rooms.”
Qin Chengyu’s expression remained neutral, though he doubted this was the real reason.
He chose not to probe further.
The two of them spent some time walking around the third floor, affixing doorplates to each room.
When they reached another door, Nian Jinsui handed Qin Chengyu the plate marked Storage Room.
“Put this one here,”
Nian Jinsui said.
Qin Chengyu hesitated.
“Young Master Nian, you’ve made a mistake. This isn’t the storage room.”
“This is the storage room. If you don’t believe me, open the door and see for yourself.”
Still skeptical, Qin Chengyu turned the handle and opened the door.
His gaze froze. Inside, his belongings were neatly arranged, and the room looked nothing like a storage space.
The room was well-organized and clearly a guest room.
Nian Jinsui internally praised Butler Liu for his excellent work but outwardly maintained a straight face.
“See? I wasn’t wrong. From now on, this is the storage room you’ll be living in. Hurry up and stick the plate on the door.”
Qin Chengyu glanced at Nian Jinsui with a hint of suspicion, unsure what game he was playing.
