SDS: Chapter 69

"My YanYan—I’ll Protect You" Cong Qiao was taken aback and asked with a troubled expression,  "President Qin, where did you hear this term from?" Cong Qiao let his thoughts run wild— It couldn’t be that someone wanted to disrespect President Qin, could it?  This matter needed to be clarified! From Cong Qiao’s reaction, Qin Zhiyan sensed something.  Could it be that this term had a negative meaning?  But Tang Keyi couldn’t possibly have any ill intentions toward him. Qin Zhiyan replied vaguely,  "I just heard it by chance. Don’t worry about it." Cong Qiao realized he had overstepped but felt too awkward to explain directly. So he tactfully suggested,  "President Qin, maybe you should search it online yourself." ...

Ch 27 : The Yunxi Village Magistrate Causes Trouble

One day,  Huaiyu remembered and opened it to find land deeds, house deeds, field deeds, and several banknotes totaling one thousand taels of silver inside. For a moment, he felt the gift was too valuable and didn't know how to handle it. Ming Li took his hand, "Keep it. Daddy is afraid his son's husband will run away, so he's bribing you with money." Ning Huaiyu glared at him, "Don't talk about Daddy like that." Ming Li stopped smiling, pressed his forehead against the other's, and looked into his eyes.  "Not even married yet, and already calling him Daddy, hmm?" His voice was bewitching Huaiyu. Ning Huaiyu's eyes darted away, "If you don't like it, I won't call him that next time." Ming Li held him tight. "I like it. I like it to death." Ning Huaiyu flushed bright red. The flower mark on his forehead tempted Ming Li . His Adam's apple bobbed, his voice hoarse and magnetic.  "Huaier, may I kiss y...

Ch 26 : Success

The perimeter of Prince Cheng's Manor was tightly surrounded by capital guards. Not even a fly could escape. Inside, Prince Cheng was being restrained. "Your Majesty, what is the meaning of this?" Ming Li only smiled at him, a smile that sent chills down Prince Cheng's spine.  But he still stiffened his neck, pretending to be calm. Ming Li spoke; "Prince Cheng, do you know your crime?" Prince Cheng's eyes darted around.  "I do not know what crime I have committed. Your Majesty must not wrongfully accuse me." Ming Li scoffed.  "I was waiting for you to confess voluntarily. Since you are so unappreciative, I need not cherish any past affections. Xuanyue, bring them in." With a creak, the main door opened, and Xuanyue entered, followed by the people imprisoned in the dungeon. Prince Cheng's face instantly turned ashen, a trace of panic flashing in his eyes, though he still feigned composure.  "Your Majesty, what is this?" M...

Ch 25 : Mother Shu Helps Her Son Win a Husband

"Xuanyue, go out and tell Night Owl to bring troops to surround Prince Cheng's Manor. I want to see where all these people in the dungeon came from." "Yes, Master," Xuanyue replied. He hesitated and added, "Master, Prince Cheng cannot be moved against now." Ming Li glanced at him, "I know. Although I can't move against him directly, I can still cut off his left and right arms." With that, he carried Ning Huaiyu out of the dungeon. [West Slope, Yunxi Village] "He's so good-looking. No wonder Ming Li rushed off even during New Year,"  Ming Xi said, sitting in Ling Cang's arms and looking at Ning Huaiyu, whom Ming Li was holding in the Qiankun Mirror. Ling Cang: "Not as good-looking as Xi'er." Ming Xi turned to look at him, cupping his face and giving it a good rub,  "Dad says that's private bias—thinking your own are always best, and others' are never as good as your own." Ling Cang held his...

Ch 24 : Ming Li Pursues His Wife

[Prince Cheng's Manor] The night was deep and quiet.  Prince Cheng's Manor held not a trace of New Year's atmosphere.  Dark and devoid of light, it was exceptionally eerie. Ming Li, along with Night Owl and Xuanyue, easily scaled the manor's walls and began searching around. Ming Li had practiced martial arts since childhood under Mo Yunxiao and, blessed with natural talent, could now hold his own against ten men. "Shh." Ming Li stopped the two and hid in a corner. Prince Cheng emerged from a room.  Unlike his usual amiable self, today his face was twisted with malice as he wiped blood from his hands with a white handkerchief. "Guard this well,"  he said, glancing at the guards on either side.  "If the prisoner is lost, I'll have you chopped up and fed to the wolves." The guards on both sides: "Yes, Master. Rest assured." Prince Cheng threw the handkerchief to the ground, spat in disgust, and went back inside. Ming Li and the ...

Ch 23 : New Year

Today was New Year's Eve, and Ming Xi woke up earlier than usual. Ling Cang was still asleep when Ming Xi shook him awake.  "Ling Cang, Ling Cang, help me braid my hair. We need to put up the Spring Festival couplets later, and I want to wear my wool hat." The wool hat was woven by Ling Cang using magic. It was bitterly cold outside, and yesterday Ming Xi had insisted on putting up the couplets today. Worried he might freeze his ears, Ling Cang had woven him a hat. Shaken awake, Ling Cang sat up, bare-chested, revealing his firm muscles.  "Come here," he said, his voice hoarse and low. Ming Xi crawled over and nestled into his embrace. Ling Cang gathered Ming Xi's ink-black hair to the left side and began braiding it.  "Xi'er, it's too cold outside. How about I use a spell to put them up directly?"  he attempted to persuade him again, but the result was the same as yesterday: Ming Xi shook his head. "The couplets have to be put up yo...

CH 22 : Ming Qi Uncovers the Traitor

"What Father says is right. Your son understands." "You need to have a plan regarding Ming Qi. Having a traitor in the army is a major taboo in warfare. Him sneaking onto the battlefield was due to your negligence in supervision. I, your father, do not wish to see anything else happen to him. Understand?" Cao Jun said sternly. "Yes."  The monarch of a nation nodded obediently like a child being lectured. "Eat. If you don't, the food will get cold."  Shu ge'er picked up a piece of chicken for Ming Li. Mingli looked up with a smile.  "Thank you, Dad." Cao Jun extended his bowl.  "Shu'er, I want some chicken too." Shuge'er glared at him but finally gave him a piece. [Northern Battlefield.] A person stood in the general's tent, clad in majestic armor, intently reading a letter from home. He had sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, his facial features chiseled and resolute.  Though long weathered by battlefield winds...

21. Discovering a Gold Mountain

A s soon as he finished speaking,  Ming Xi  immediately handed the fruit over.  Ling Cang took it and finished it in two or three bites.  "Sleep a little longer. It's snowing outside, a real blizzard—better not go out today." Ming Xi nodded, lay down, and pulled the quilt over his head.  After a moment, he peeked out again. "Ling Cang, I can't sleep." Ling Cang pulled out a mirror and handed it to him.  "Here, play with this."  It was the Qiankun Mirror, capable of showing mountains, rivers, and all phenomena across the three realms. Holding the mirror, Ming Xi was long accustomed to Ling Cang's boundless magical power and countless rare treasures.  Looking down, he suddenly saw a mansion appear in the mirror. Someone in the courtyard was skulking around. Ming Xi found the person very familiar but couldn't quite remember where he'd seen them. He called over Ling Cang, who was fiddling with a potted plant.  "Look, doesn't this p...
