SDS: Chapter 69
"My YanYan—I’ll Protect You"
Cong Qiao was taken aback and asked with a troubled
expression,
"President Qin, where did you hear this term from?"
Cong Qiao let his thoughts run wild—
It couldn’t be that someone wanted to disrespect President Qin, could
it?
This matter needed to be clarified!
From Cong Qiao’s reaction, Qin Zhiyan sensed something.
Could it be that this term had a negative meaning?
But Tang Keyi couldn’t possibly have any ill intentions toward
him.
Qin Zhiyan replied vaguely,
"I just heard it by chance. Don’t worry about it."
Cong Qiao realized he had overstepped but felt too awkward to explain
directly.
So he tactfully suggested,
"President Qin, maybe you should search it online yourself."
Qin Zhiyan shot Cong Qiao a suspicious glance, waved him out, and then
typed the three characters into his phone.
After seeing the explanation that popped up, Qin Zhiyan silently rubbed
his forehead.
Tang Keyi’s thoughts were truly... beyond words.
“We’re not having dinner together tonight,”
Qin Zhiyan said, looking at Tang Keyi in front of him.
“I just received a call. I need to meet with the new seller of the New
Trunk Line land tonight.”
“Is it that important? You promised me first,”
Tang Keyi said disappointedly.
Qin Zhiyan reached out and pinched Tang Keyi’s earlobe which bore a red
mole, soothingly saying
“Just before signing the contract, the original seller transferred the
land. I only found out about this today. There’s no need to investigate
further—the new seller is already asking to meet me. It seems like this
was planned all along. So, I must go to the meeting tonight.”
Tang Keyi also grew serious.
“It sounds like there’s some conspiracy involved. I’ll go with
you.”
“Do you want to go? I was afraid you’d find it boring,”
Qin Zhiyan said, his fingers still maintaining their pinching motion,
as though he had a particular fondness for that spot.
“I’m your assistant! I want to go!”
Qin Zhiyan indulged Tang Keyi.
“Alright, I’ll take you.”
When Tang Keyi followed Qin Zhiyan to the reserved private room, he
only saw a young man with black hair, green eyes, fair skin, and
delicate features—clearly a mixed-race individual.
Tang Keyi wondered inwardly,
Could this be the new seller of the New Trunk Line land?
But this person was quite rude.
Seeing them arrive, he didn’t stand up to greet them.
Instead, he remained sitting with his legs crossed looking at them with
a faint smile, as if he knew them.
Tang Keyi glanced sideways and noticed Qin Zhiyan’s deep, intense gaze,
clearly tinged with anger.
Just as Tang Keyi was about to ask Qin Zhiyan if he knew him, the
person spoke first, answering Tang Keyi’s question.
“President Qin, long time no see. Please, have a seat.”
Qin Zhiyan stepped forward and sat down opposite the
person.
Tang Keyi followed and sat beside Qin Zhiyan.
“And this is?” the person asked, looking at Tang Keyi.
“He’s my assistant,” Qin Zhiyan replied.
“William, when did you arrive in the imperial capital?”
“Just about a week ago. I’ve been waiting a whole week just to meet you
today,”
William said, pressing the call button to have the dishes served.
Hearing this, Tang Keyi felt slightly surprised.
His eyes flickered, and his gaze toward William carried a hint of
hostility.
Qin Zhiyan furrowed his brow, his sharp gaze fixed on the person across
from him.
“So, you deliberately acquired the New Trunk Line land before the Qin
Corporation could sign the contract. What’s your purpose? Just say
it.”
William smiled triumphantly.
“Of course, it’s because of you, President Qin.”
Qin Zhiyan’s gaze remained displeased as he waited for William to
continue.
Hearing this, Tang Keyi couldn’t help but grit his teeth.
“Back in the M Empire, you snatched so many business deals from me and
then left for your country without a word. How could I let it go?”
William flashed a smile.
“I imagine the Qin Corporation has put a lot of preliminary work into
developing this land, right? Now that I’ve intercepted it halfway,
President Qin must be feeling quite upset.”
“You don’t have the development rights. Even if you bought this land,
it’s useless. Did you really spend billions just to annoy me?”
“President Qin, you must be joking. I came to the imperial capital for
you—why would I want to annoy you? I’m here to propose a collaboration.
I won’t sell this land, but I want to participate in your future
development projects and take half the share.”
“Agreed.”
William looked surprised.
“President Qin, you’re being so decisive? Aren’t you going to consider
it further? Aren’t you worried I might have ulterior motives?”
“No need. You’re a smart person too. We’ll discuss the details at the
company tomorrow.”
During their brief conversation, Qin Zhiyan had already analyzed the
pros and cons.
The Qin Corporation held the development rights for the New Trunk Line
land, but this wasn’t their only target plot.
However, the other plots had already been purchased by the Qin
Corporation.
If they couldn’t acquire this land, the other plots would lose their
synergistic potential.
Rendering the entire project, with its massive preliminary investment
almost useless.
William must have investigated beforehand and deliberately
interfered.
He knew the Qin Corporation couldn’t afford to give up this land
entirely, so he seized the opportunity to join in.
The peripheral development projects around the New Trunk Line were
highly profitable with bright prospects, which was why William wanted a
piece of the pie.
Still, William’s participation did have some advantages.
William’s family was one of the top financial groups in the M
Empire.
Previously, Qin Zhiyan had some conflicts with William’s family while
expanding into foreign markets.
But now, if William wanted to do business in the C Empire, it would
give Qin Zhiyan a perfect opportunity to keep him in check.
If William had any ill intentions, Qin Zhiyan was confident he could
make William’s family suffer heavy losses right here in the C
Empire.
Listening to the exchange between Qin Zhiyan and William, Tang Keyi’s
heart was in turmoil.
[This William came back to the imperial capital for our Yan Yan?]
[Yan Yan has too many admirers, doesn’t he? They’re even chasing him
back from abroad?]
[From what he’s saying, it seems like he’s been defeated by Yan Yan so
many times that he’s developed a desire to conquer him... Is this the
legendary ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’?]
[Oh my god, this love rival doesn’t seem easy to deal with!]
Qin Zhiyan: ???
How did Tang Keyi get the idea that William liked him?
Qin Zhiyan stood up.
“If there’s nothing else, we’ll take our leave now.”
William spoke up to stop them.
“President Qin, won’t you do me the honor? The dishes haven’t even been
served yet.”
“No need.”
If they stayed any longer, Qin Zhiyan really didn’t know what else Tang
Keyi might imagine.
“Alright then. There will be plenty of time in the future. We’ll be
seeing each other often anyway. I hope President Qin will grace us with
his presence then,”
William said, a faint smile lingering on his face as he looked at Qin
Zhiyan.
[That smile of his! He’s clearly trying to seduce Yan Yan!]
[This guy definitely has ulterior motives toward our Yan Yan!]
Qin Zhiyan sighed helplessly and strode toward the door.
Tang Keyi followed behind Qin Zhiyan, deliberately turning back to
glare at William.
Seeing this, William raised an eyebrow.
This little assistant was quite interesting.
“This William is clearly not a good person. You should interact with
him as little as possible. If he invites you out for a meal, you mustn’t
agree. Or at least take me with you”
Tang Keyi earnestly advised as they left the private room.
Qin Zhiyan tightened his grip on Tang Keyi’s hand and explained
“He’s just upset because he lost to me before. Don’t worry, he won’t be
able to cause any trouble.”
[In the private room, his eyes never left you. He definitely likes
you!]
[Forget it. Our Yan Yan is so innocent—he definitely wouldn’t
notice.]
[My Yan Yan, I’ll protect him!]
Qin Zhiyan: …
“Luckily, the reservation I made wasn’t canceled. Let’s go enjoy a good
meal.”
As soon as they left the restaurant, Qin Zhiyan zipped up Tang Keyi’s
jacket all the way and wrapped his scarf tightly around him.
“Don’t get sick again.”
This scene happened to be witnessed by William, who was standing by the
glass window upstairs.
Qin Zhiyan and that little assistant?
Interesting.
Qin Zhiyan, you’ve beaten me so many times.
If I don’t give you some trouble, wouldn’t that be unfair?
