Qin Zhiyan watched Tang Keyi's breathing grow rapid,
yet he still stubbornly pretended to be asleep.
It was both adorable and amusing.
He leaned down and kissed the same spot again.
Let’s see how long you can keep this up.
[Holy shit!]
[Qin Zhiyan, you—you—stop it!]
[Do you even know this counts as harassment?!]
Qin Zhiyan’s lips curved into a smirk as Tang Keyi’s face turned crimson.
"Wake up soon. I’m worried about you."
The moment the door clicked shut, Tang Keyi’s eyes flew open.
He pressed a hand to his chest, desperately trying to muffle his frantic breathing.
[Oh my god, Qin Zhiyan kissed me? Why would he kiss me out of nowhere? Does he like me?]
[He must like me, right?]
[So I wasn’t just deluding myself?]
[Damn, I’m amazing. Did I actually manage to win over Qin Zhiyan?]
Just outside the door, Qin Zhiyan stood silently,
eavesdropping on Tang Keyi’s inner monologue.
Of course you weren’t deluding yourself.
We’re mutual.
Half an hour later, Qin Zhiyan decided Tang Keyi had enough time to process things.
He called room service to deliver the hangover soup he’d ordered earlier.
Tang Keyi pretended to stir awake, blinking groggily at Qin Zhiyan,
his eyes brimming with poorly concealed shyness.
Those eyes, now tinged with a new hue because of him—they were beautiful.
Qin Zhiyan’s throat tightened as he set the soup on the nightstand.
"Headache?"
Tang Keyi nodded pitifully.
"Yeah."
"Serves you right."
Qin Zhiyan unpacked the disposable slippers by the bed and placed them neatly on the floor.
"Brush your teeth first, then drink the soup."
"Okay."
Tang Keyi obediently shuffled to the bathroom, still dazed.
[Why isn’t Qin Zhiyan mad at me?]
[And he’s being so nice…]
[He must be head over heels for me.]
[I treated him so badly last night. Ugh, I feel kinda guilty now.]
[How are we supposed to act around each other after this?]
[He already kissed me—does that mean he’s not planning to take responsibility?]
[Did he keep sneaking kisses while I was asleep last night? Bet he did!]
[Is he waiting for me to confess? But he already knows I like him!]
[Who knew the lie I made up back then would actually come true?]
Tang Keyi’s mental chatter didn’t stop from the moment he entered the bathroom until he stepped out.
Listening to this, Qin Zhiyan couldn’t help but reflect.
A few months ago,
he’d wondered why fate had granted him the ability to hear Tang Keyi’s thoughts.
Now, he finally understood.
Tang Keyi was a gift from heaven.
And he was very satisfied with this gift.
The "gift" in question emerged from the bathroom,
awkwardly avoiding Qin Zhiyan’s gaze.
"Drink the soup."
Qin Zhiyan handed it to him.
Once Tang Keyi finished, it was time for reckoning.
"Sober now? Do you remember what happened last night? If not, I can remind you."
Tang Keyi’s lips puckered as he blurted,
"I was wrong."
[I was wrong, and I’ll do it again.]
Qin Zhiyan kept his expression stern.
"What exactly were you wrong about?"
"Everything."
Tang Keyi put on his best pitiful look.
[Apologize fast enough, and no one can stay mad. Hehe.]
Qin Zhiyan suppressed a snort.
Bold of you to try slick tricks in front of me now.
"Anything you want to ask me?"
Qin Zhiyan decided to clear the air once and for all.
Before Tang Keyi could speak, urgent knocking interrupted them,
followed by Han Qiuqiu’s voice.
Tang Keyi rushed to open the door.
"Keyi! Are you okay?!"
Han Qiuqiu frantically scanned him head to toe.
"I’m fine. Why—"
Tang Keyi’s words died as his eyes landed on the vivid marks littering Han Qiuqiu’s neck.
"You—you—who did you…?"
Han Qiuqiu waved dismissively.
"Some irrelevant guy."
"So you came running because you were worried about me…?"
Tang Keyi connected the dots.
Another figure barged in—Qin Yulin.
"Qiuqiu, why’d you run off like that? You’re not planning to take responsibility after sleeping with me?"
Qin Yulin’s neck bore equally conspicuous evidence of last night’s… activities.
Tang Keyi’s eye twitched.
So Qin Yulin is the "irrelevant guy"?
Han Qiuqiu didn’t even spare Qin Yulin a glance.
"You slept with me, got it? And I’m not asking you to take responsibility!"
Qin Yulin eagerly countered,
"I want to take responsibility! Please let me!"
"Not happening. This was a breakup hookup, a one-night stand. You of all people should know the drill, Qin Yulin."
Qin Yulin’s expression darkened uncharacteristically.
"Qiuqiu. Is there really no chance for us?"
Han Qiuqiu shook his head firmly.
"Qin Yulin, let it go."
The devastation on Qin Yulin’s face was palpable as he turned and left.
"Keyi, let’s go." Han Qiuqiu tugged Tang Keyi’s arm.
Tang Keyi glanced back at Qin Zhiyan, inexplicably reluctant. "I’ll head out first, then."
"Mn." Qin Zhiyan nodded. "We’ll talk later."
Steam curled through the private hot spring, mist hanging thick in the air.
Han Qiuqiu scowled at the marks on his skin,
which grew more pronounced in the heat.
"That bastard bit so hard!"
Tang Keyi lowered the towel from his forehead,
forcing himself to push aside thoughts of Qin Zhiyan’s actions that morning.
"Qin Yulin looked pretty wrecked earlier. You really hurt him."
"That shameless playboy will bounce back in no time. Don’t mind him!"
Han Qiuqiu dismissed.
"Qiuqiu… I get the feeling you’re not completely indifferent to him. Is there really no possibility?"
Han Qiuqiu grew serious, pausing before answering.
"We’re both too wild. I did consider settling down, but Qin Yulin… I don’t trust him. I’m scared I’ll fall deeper while, to him, I’m no different from his exes. So it’s better to cut it off now."
"But Qin Yulin clearly can’t let you go. Can’t you give him a chance?"
"That’s just his ego and conquest complex talking."
Han Qiuqiu sneered.
"He’s never been dumped before, so now he’s clinging to me.
Tang Keyi, don’t let him fool you."
"Really?"
Tang Keyi wavered.
"What would a lifelong singleton like you know?"
Han Qiuqiu changed the subject.
"Now spill—what happened with Qin Zhiyan? You’re like a different person today."
"Qin Zhiyan and I…"
Tang Keyi’s gaze darted around, stammering.
"How do I put it… I don’t even know myself…"
