“You’ve got it wrong. There’s only one young master in the Qin family, and that’s our Brother Lu. That Qin Chengyu has already been kicked out of the family—how can he still count as the second young master of the Qin family?”
“Oh, my big mouth! I misspoke. Master Qin, don’t take it to heart. I’ll punish myself with three drinks later!”
“Nian Jin sui is notorious for being arrogant and willful, doing whatever he pleases. If Qin Chengyu doesn’t try his best to please him, and if he gets kicked out of the Nian family too, he’ll probably end up as a beggar.”
“At the end of the day, Chairman Qin values our Brother Lu the most! If the Qin family isn’t his in the future, then whose will it be?”
“You don’t even need to say it. Isn’t this something the entire capital knows?”
Qin Cheng lu basked in everyone’s flattery, feeling increasingly smug.
“It’s one thing for you to know, but don’t go around saying it. Grandpa doesn’t like people always thinking about his position. Keep it low-key.”
“Don’t worry, Master Qin, we know our boundaries. By the way, Master Qin, since there’s nothing much happening now, why not call Qin Cheng yu over? He could tell us how he serves Nian Jin sui—it’d be a great laugh for everyone.”
“The guy’s clinging to Nian Jin sui’s thigh so tightly; who knows if we can even get him to come.”
Qin Cheng lu snickered,
“Let him try ignoring my call! I’ll call him right now.”
Qin Cheng yu had just gotten into the car when he received a call from Qin Cheng lu.
“Qin Cheng yu, it’s been a while. I wonder how you’ve been? Come to X Club right now. Big Brother is treating you to dinner tonight.”
Before Qin Cheng yu could reply, Qin Cheng lu hung up.
Qin Cheng lu had never considered Qin Cheng yu’s feelings—it was always orders, never requests.
“Master Qin, should we go back to the Nian residence or…?”
Driver Xiao Liu, who overheard part of the call, asked hesitantly.
Qin Chengyu remained silent for a moment, lightly tapping his phone with his long fingers as if in thought.
Then, he raised his eyelids slightly.
“To X Club. After you return, let young Master Nian know I won’t be back for dinner.”
“Understood, Master Qin.”
“You’re saying Qin Chengyu isn’t coming back for dinner?”
Nian Jin sui was surprised to hear this from the driver and immediately grew curious.
“Do you know who he’s having dinner with? Is it a boy or a girl?”
“Uh… Young Master, the call seemed to be from the eldest young master of the Qin family…”
“What? Qin Cheng lu?”
Nian Jinsui’s expression turned serious.
“Where are they having dinner? Take me there immediately!”
In the private room, Qin Cheng lu sat in the center of the sofa, legs crossed, exuding the demeanor of a carefree young master from a wealthy family.
He gave Qin Cheng yu a once-over and smiled maliciously.
“Qin Cheng yu, it’s been a while. Have you gained weight? Looks like you’re living well with the Nian family.”
Qin Cheng yu raised his eyes to meet Qin Cheng lus gaze, his expression calm as always—neither flustered nor submissive.
“Why did you call me here?”
“No matter what, you’re still my brother. Can’t I treat you to a meal?”
Qin Cheng lu turned to the others in the room.
“Now that everyone’s here, let’s have the food served.”
He pressed the service bell, and soon waiters streamed in, placing various dishes on the large round dining table.
“Master Qin, take the head seat.”
Everyone stood up from the sofa and moved to the table.
Qin Chengyu glanced at the setup and immediately understood their intentions.
Sure enough, one of them soon feigned surprise.
“Oh, it seems we’re short one chair. These waiters are so careless—Qin Cheng yu doesn’t even have a seat. Maybe I should give him mine.”
Despite saying so, the person didn’t move, instead smirking at Qin Cheng yu, clearly mocking him.
Another chimed in:
“Don’t bother. Qin Cheng yu is just Nian Jin sui’s dog now. Have you ever seen a dog sit at the table to eat?”
This sparked laughter around the room, with mocking gazes directed at Qin Cheng yu.
However, Qin Cheng yu remained indifferent.
He had anticipated this before coming and wasn’t new to being humiliated.
Such words couldn’t stir him in the slightest.
But the others weren’t ready to let him off, escalating their taunts.
“Qin Cheng yu, tell us—how do you win Nian Jin sui’s favor? He’s so arrogant and always close to the Chu family. How is he so good to someone with the Qin surname?”
“Yeah, don’t be stingy! Share your tricks for pleasing him. Do you bark ‘woof woof’ every time you see him? Hahaha…”
“I think it’s very possible. How else could he have Nian Jin sui wrapped around his finger? Just look at Qin Cheng yu’s clothes—they’re BN’s latest collection.”
“Are you serious? Are you sure you’re not mistaken? Even I couldn’t buy those. Would Nian Jin sui really be so generous to Qin Cheng yu?”
“My family is in the fashion business. I’m certain I’m not mistaken.”
In the novel, Nian Jin sui was portrayed as a hedonistic, extravagant playboy who loved things others couldn’t get.
He enjoyed being envied and admired.
Naturally, he was on the VIP list of luxury brands, getting first access to new and limited-edition items.
So when he received the latest sales list, he casually bought some items for himself and Qin Chengyu.
As everyone continued their ridicule, Qin Chengyu remained silent, standing and casually checking the time.
“Whoa, is that a JS limited-edition watch on Qin Cheng yu’s wrist? Didn’t Master Qin just say he missed out on it? How did Qin Cheng yu get one?”
The speaker trailed off as everyone’s gaze shifted to Qin Cheng lu, and the atmosphere grew awkward.
“Qin Cheng yu, did Nian Jin sui buy that watch for you? Let me see it,”
Qin Cheng lu said, his once-playful smile turning cold as he locked eyes on Qin Cheng yu.
Qin Cheng yus lips parted slightly, his tone icy.
“I don’t want to give it to you.”
“I’m telling you to give me the watch!”
Qin Cheng lu roared, slamming the table and pointing at Qin Cheng yu.
“I said no.”
Qin Cheng yus indifferent response ignited Qin Cheng lus fury.
Qin Cheng lu was all too familiar with this attitude—every time he tried to bully Qin Chengyu,
Qin Chengyu remained unaffected, refusing to yield yet never actively resisting.
This demeanor of quiet defiance made Qin Cheng lu feel like a clown in Qin Cheng yus eyes,
and it was a feeling he couldn’t tolerate.
His anger only intensified, desperate to crush Qin Cheng yus pride and force him to beg.
