With his fury exploding, Qin Cheng lu violently overturned the table.
Plates shattered, soup and fragments splashed everywhere, and those seated around the table bore the brunt of it.
Getting splashed by food was the least of their worries—some were scalded or even hit by flying debris.
Yet, none of them dared to say a word.
They swallowed their grievances silently because they all knew Qin Cheng lu had a glandular defect that made his emotions highly volatile, prone to anger and sudden outbursts.
And since they were all from small families dependent on the Qin family, they had no choice but to endure it.
Although Qin Chengyu had been standing farther away, he wasn’t entirely spared.
Seeing the stains on his clothes, he rarely frowned.
“Qin Cheng yu, you dare to look down on me like this? Today, I’m going to teach you a lesson!”
Qin Cheng luo, consumed with rage, raised a chair and swung it at Qin Cheng yu.
Qin Chengyu didn’t dodge or flinch and took the blow head-on.
At that moment, the door to the private room swung open, and Nian Jin sui stepped in, witnessing the scene unfold.
“Qin Cheng yu!”
Hearing the familiar voice, Qin Chengyu’s eyes lit up slightly,
a flicker of something indecipherable passing through his gaze.
He turned towards the voice and met Nian Jin suis anxious and worried eyes.
Nian Jin sui quickly scanned the room and grasped the situation.
His anger flared.
He was right—Qin Chengyu was being bullied.
No problem.
He was here to play the hero and save the day!
His gaze landed on Qin Cheng luo.
Although he didn’t have a deep impression of him, Qin Chengluo wasn’t hard to recognize—he had a sinister look, with an expression that practically screamed, “I’m the king of the world.”
“Oh, Young Master Qin, how impressive. So many people ganging up on one person. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to spread the word about this, especially to Chairman Qin.”
Nian Jinsui sneered.
He knew Qin Cheng luo cared most about what Qin Zhuo thought of him, especially with the upcoming critical juncture where Qin Cheng luo was being considered for an important position in the Qin family.
Qin Chengluo’s eyes darted around, and he casually threw the chair aside, laughing nonchalantly.
“Young Master Nian, since you’ve come uninvited, why not have a seat?”
Nian Jin sui, supported by his crutches, walked in, regretting his choice not to use a wheelchair.
With a wheelchair, he’d look more imposing with someone pushing him.
But now, hobbling in on crutches, his presence seemed weaker.
Qin Cheng luo impatiently snapped at the waiter who had opened the door for Nian Jin sui.
“What are you standing there for? Close the door and get lost!”
The waiter, seeing the tense situation, hurriedly closed the door and fled without hesitation.
Nian Jin sui wasn’t afraid.
As the young master of the Nian family, Qin Chengluo wouldn’t dare lay a hand on him, even if he had the courage of a bear or a leopard.
Noticing the scattered shards on the ground, Qin Chengyu instinctively stepped forward to help Nian Jinsui.
But Nian Jin sui, still fuming, ignored him completely, brushing past his outstretched hand and sitting directly on a single-seater sofa.
Qin Cheng yu’s gaze flickered as he silently retracted his hand, standing quietly beside Nian Jin sui.
This scene didn’t escape Qin Chengluo’s notice, prompting him to laugh mockingly.
“Nian Jinsui, what did you do to train Qin Chengyu to be so obedient? Share your secrets! I have a dog I’ve raised for over ten years, and it’s still not as well-behaved.”
Nian Jinsui frowned in disgust. Qin Chengluo’s words were venomous.
He couldn’t imagine how much humiliation Qin Chengyu must have endured in the Qin family over the years.
Nian Jinsui retorted coldly,
“No need to overthink it, Young Master Qin. Your Qin family has never been good at training dogs. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have an unleashed one barking at me right now.”
Qin Chengluo’s arrogant smile froze.
“Nian Jinsui, are you calling me a dog?”
With an innocent expression, Nian Jinsui replied,
“Who called you a dog? Don’t falsely accuse me. I was just wondering if I should visit Chairman Qin and suggest he keep a tighter leash on his family’s dogs.”
Qin Chengluo’s expression turned stiff.
“Are you threatening me with my grandfather?”
“I’m just offering a reminder. If you think it’s a threat, then so be it,”
Nian Jinsui replied nonchalantly, leaning back leisurely as he stared at Qin Chengluo.
As the two faced off, someone behind Qin Chengluo chimed in:
“Young Master Nian, we’re all adults here. Isn’t running to tattle to someone’s grandparent a bit childish?”
Nian Jinsui sneered.
Childish or not, as long as it works, it’s fine.
His strategy was simple:
strike where it hurt. Qin Chengluo’s biggest fear was Qin Zhuo finding out about his antics, and Nian Jinsui wasn’t going to let such a perfect weakness go to waste.
The others chimed in, condemning Nian Jinsui:
“Young Master Nian, don’t be so arrogant. Our Young Master Qin isn’t afraid of Chairman Qin.”
“Yeah, everyone knows Chairman Qin dotes on him the most. The Qin family is bound to be his…”
Amid the flattery, Qin Chengluo’s expression darkened further.
Qin Zhuo’s preference for Qin Chengluo was a point of pride for him, but Nian Jinsui knew the truth—Qin Zhuo was a pragmatic man who valued benefits over feelings.
Today, he might elevate you to the skies, but tomorrow, he could crush you underfoot. Both Nian Jinsui and Qin Chengluo were well aware of this.
Suddenly, Qin Chengluo shouted,
“Get out!”
“Young Master Nian, you’re not welcome here. Young Master Qin is asking you to leave…”
But Qin Chengluo turned to glare at the sycophants behind him.
“I said, all of you get out! Now!”
“Young Master Qin… we…”
Some tried to explain, but the smarter ones quickly fled.
Those who lingered a moment too long were kicked out by Qin Chengluo,
leaving the room in disarray.
With the room now quiet, Qin Chengluo seemed calmer,
though he looked at Nian Jinsui with a mocking glint.
“Young Master Nian, you really care for my brother. Your leg isn’t even fully healed, yet here you are rushing to him. Not to mention, you even bought him the latest limited-edition watch. Tell me, if Chu Heting knew you were treating a Qin family member this well, what would he think?”
Internally, Nian Jinsui groaned.
Why is everyone bringing up Chu Heting? Who cares what he thinks? He can think whatever he wants.
So the watch was a limited edition? He hadn’t even noticed when he bought it—he just thought it suited Qin Chengyu.
Listening to Qin Chengluo’s words, though, it almost sounded like there was a hint of jealousy.
How annoying.
Nian Jinsui just wanted to take Qin Chengyu and leave.
Why was it getting hotter in here?
Did they forget to turn on the air conditioning?
Seeing Nian Jinsui’s hesitation and irritation,
Qin Chengluo assumed he’d gained the upper hand.
If Nian Jinsui could threaten him with his grandfather,
why couldn’t he use Chu Heting against Nian Jinsui?
Feeling triumphant, Qin Chengluo looked Nian Jinsui up and down.
He had to admit, Nian Jinsui was stunning, with an impeccable family background.
How blind must Chu He ting be to ignore someone like this and instead chase after a mere servant?
Suddenly recalling Qin Mu yun’s words, Qin Chengluo thought perhaps he should give it a try.
Adjusting his disheveled attire, he sat opposite Nian Jinsui, flashing what he believed was a charming smile.
“Young Master Nian, I heard about your birthday party. I can’t believe Chu He ting would overlook someone as incredible as you for a lowly servant.”
Suspicious, Nian Jinsui glanced at Qin Chengluo.
Why was he suddenly complimenting him?
“Young Master Nian, listen to me. That Chu Heting isn’t worth your time. You’re the young master of the Nian family—why settle for him when you could find someone far better? Don’t waste your time on one tree.”
