Ch 2 : The Ge'er's Escape

With a mere lift of his hand, a document appeared in his grasp.  “Is this what you mean, Village Chief?” He handed the document over. The Village Chief reached out, took it, opened it, and examined it carefully.  “Exactly this.” After reviewing it, he returned the document to the man and turned to address the villagers, clarifying the man's identity.  “Ling Cang, from the capital. His family has been in trade for generations.” The Clan Leader nodded upon hearing this.  “If that's the case, then the young man may reside temporarily in Yunxi Village.” “Thank you very much then,”  Divine Emperor Ling Cang said with a smile, cupping his hands in thanks. His smile was like a warm spring breeze, dazzling everyone present. “Might there be any uninhabited houses in the village? I would like to purchase one,”  Ling Cang asked with a smile. Before entering the mortal realm, he had observed this area; the scenery was excellent and it seemed a good place for living and...

Chapter 43 You low-class loser

Sitting to the side, Chu He jun had been keeping his ears open, paying attention to the commotion over here.

However, since he had spent most of his time abroad and didn’t follow the trends on domestic internet memes, he didn’t understand Nian Jinsui’s joke.

“Nian Jinsui, what do you mean by that?”

Now that Chu Hejun had calmed down,

he realized his earlier behavior in public had indeed been somewhat inappropriate.

So he took the initiative to talk to Nian Jinsui, as a way of making peace.

Nian Jinsui glanced at Chu Hejun and replied,

“You’re always abroad, so it’s normal for you not to get it. Let me tell you an English joke instead.”

“Alright, go ahead,”

Chu Hejun said.

“Two little bees are flying among the flowers. One is flying high, and the other is flying low. Guess what the high-flying bee said to the low-flying bee?”

Chu He jun didn’t understand and asked sincerely,

“What did it say?”

Nian Jinsui smirked mischievously,

“You low bee.”

This time, Chu Hejun finally got it.

“Nian Jinsui, you’re insulting me!”

Nian Jinsui laughed heartily.

Qin Chengyu: Nian Jinsui told someone another joke...

He pondered for a moment and thought, alright, forget about this joke, he didn’t want it anyway.

When Nian Jinsui came home after class today, just as he lazily stretched out his hands on the steps in front of the main door,

Qin Chengyu had already crouched down in front of him, ready to carry him.

The whole scene was witnessed by Butler Liu, who timely handed over a pair of crutches and reminded,

“Young Master, your cast has already been removed. At this stage, you can try walking. Only by actively doing rehabilitation can you recover faster.”

Nian Jinsui thought to himself, of course, he knew this.

But he needed Qin Chengyu to carry him and push his wheelchair to earn assessment points!

Seeing Nian Jinsui’s reluctant expression, Butler Liu, out of concern for his health, directly brought up Nian Yixin.

“Young Master, if President Nian finds out your foot injury hasn’t healed, he’ll definitely worry and rush back from Country M.”

Butler Liu’s implication was that he was going to report to Nian Yixin.

“Alright, Uncle Liu, give me the crutches.”

In the end, Nian Jin sui reluctantly agreed.

Holding the crutches, Nian Jin sui walked into the house while feeling worried.

Last month, Qin Cheng yu had tirelessly taken care of him for an entire month, and his injury only deducted 20 points.

If Qin Chengyu couldn’t push his wheelchair anymore, how was he going to pass this month’s assessment?

As Nian Jinsui was lost in his thoughts, he didn’t notice that Qin Cheng yu was still standing in place, watching his back.

A moment later, Qin Cheng yu slowly withdrew his gaze and lowered his eyes to look at the abandoned wheelchair beside him.

Nian Jin sui no longer told him jokes, and now he didn’t need him to carry him anymore.

Was it possible that, in the future, he, like this wheelchair, would no longer be needed by Nian Jin sui?

This afternoon, Nian Jin sui’s last class was PE.

Since his foot injury hadn’t fully healed, he took the day off and went home early.

Of course, before leaving, he messaged Qin Chengyu,

asking the driver to return to the academy later to pick him up after class and take him back to the Nian residence.

After class, Qin Cheng yu was walking alone on the campus path when he suddenly heard someone call out.

"Second Young Master Qin!"

Qin Cheng yu stopped in his tracks and looked in the direction of the voice,

finding Ning Liang an crouching beside a bicycle not far away.

Sweat was dripping down his forehead—it seemed like the bike was broken.

Seeing Qin Cheng yu as if he were a savior, Ning Liang an pleaded for help.

"Second Young Master Qin, my bike chain fell off. Can you lend me a hand?"

But Qin Chengyu’s expression didn’t change.

He quickly averted his gaze indifferently and, without saying a word, continued on his way as if he hadn’t seen or heard anything.

“What a strange person…”

Ning Liang an muttered, frowning.

Left with no other choice, he bent his head back down and kept fiddling with the bike chain.

Luckily, before long, another person came by.

"Classmate Ning, do you need help?"

Ning Liang an looked up and found it was Chu He jun.

"That would be a great help, Second Young Master Chu."

Chu He jun crouched down next to Ning Liang an, and the two worked together to quickly fix the bike.

"Second Young Master Chu, I really appreciate it."

Ning Liang’an glanced at Chu Hejun’s hands, now covered in black grease.

"Let’s go wash up."

"Alright."

The two headed toward the handwashing sink near the sports field.

As they walked, Ning Liang’an said,

"It’s a good thing you were here to help me today. Otherwise, I don’t know how long I would’ve been stuck here by myself."

"No need to thank me,"

Chu He jun replied.

Helping his future sister-in-law was enough of a reward—

he could even brag about it to Chu He ting later.

"Also, thank Young Master Chu He ting for me."

"No need to thank… huh?"

Chu He jun froze, thinking he must have misheard.

Chu He jun studied Ning Liang an’s expression and, seeing the seriousness on his face, finally reacted:

“You knew?”

“I knew,”

Ning Liang an nodded.

“If you want to thank him, you can tell him yourself. I’m not going to be your messenger,”

Chu He jun took the opportunity to subtly pair up Chu He ting and Ning Liang an.

Ning Liang an didn’t respond directly and instead said,

“Second Young Master Chu, thank you. I’ve already adapted to life here, so I won’t trouble you anymore.”

Ning Liang’an didn’t want to keep pretending to be clueless and take Chu Hejun’s care and protection for granted, so he chose this moment to make things clear.

“Then be honest with me—has Nian Jin sui ever bullied you?”

This was the question that had been nagging at Chu He jun.

“Absolutely not!”

Ning Liang an answered firmly.

“I know you might have some prejudice against Young Master Nian, but in my view, he’s a very good person. Anyone who gets to know him will be drawn to him. I like Young Master Nian very much.”

Chu Hejun didn’t believe it and chuckled lightly.

“I’ve known him since we were kids. Do you really think I don’t know what he’s like?”

“Second Young Master Chu, people change. You’ve spent time with Young Master Nian recently. If you let go of your biases, would you still think he’s someone who bullies the weak?”

Chu Hejun fell silent for a moment.

He had to admit that if he disregarded Nian Jin suis notorious past and only considered his recent behavior,

Nian Jinsui had indeed been very kind and genuine toward Ning Liang an.

Seeing the genuine admiration Ning Liang an had for Nian Jin sui, Chu Hejun thought to himself,

could he have misjudged Nian Jinsui all this time? Could it be that Ye Kang had lied to him?

Noticing Chu Hejun’s wavering thoughts, Ning Liang’an smiled and said,

“Second Young Master Chu, maybe you should get to know Young Master Nian again.”

“Well, I’m not interested,”

Chu Hejun retorted stubbornly, unwilling to lose face.

He forcefully changed the topic.

“Judging by how much you admire Nian Jin sui, it sounds like you’re in a love triangle. Why don’t the three of you just live together and be done with it?”

Ning Liang an: …

At X Club.

It was rare for Qin Cheng lu to visit the academy, and while catching up with his drinking buddies, he overheard quite a bit about Qin Cheng yu.

“Master Qin, didn’t Nian Jinsui break his leg jumping off a building? You should’ve seen it—Qin Chengyu acts so attentive in front of Nian Jinsui. I mean, he’s the second young master of the Qin family! How could he lower himself so much to serve Nian Jinsui like that?”
