Chapter 41 Who Are You Calling a Fool?

Since they weren’t friends, Nian Jin Sui couldn’t be bothered to put on a pleasant face.

“Ah, so it’s you. Well, our table is full. Go find another spot.”

Chu He Jun smirked.

“Then let’s see which classmate is willing to give up their seat for me.”

His gaze swept over Qin Cheng Yu, who remained unbothered, and finally landed on Ye Kang.

“You said you didn’t want to eat, right? Why don’t you give me your seat?”

Ye Kang awkwardly protested,

“Second Young Master Chu, I haven’t even started eating…”

“Then take your food somewhere else. Did you hear me?”

Chu He Jun’s tone turned cold.

Ye Kang’s eyes flashed with resentment, but he didn’t dare offend Chu He Jun.

Begrudgingly, he picked up his tray and moved to another table.

Taking Ye Kang’s vacated spot, Chu He Jun leisurely glanced at Ning Liang An beside him.

“Hey, did Nian Jin Sui bully you? Be honest. I’ll get revenge for you.”

Ning Liang An gave him a sidelong look, clearly exasperated.

“No, young master Nian didn’t bully me. I invited him to lunch, so I went to get his food.”

Chu He Jun stared at Nian Jin Sui in disbelief.

“You’re so rich, and yet you let him treat you? Isn’t that bullying? You’re too much!”

Nian Jin Sui gripped his chopsticks tightly.

“Chu He Jun, did you spend your whole life learning only music? Is that why your cultural understanding is so low?”

Chu He Jun shot back without hesitation.

“And what right do you have to talk about culture? You’ve been at the bottom of your class since kindergarten! You’re nothing but a fool, no wonder my brother doesn’t like you.”

At that moment, he was met with sharp glares from both Qin Cheng Yu and Ning Liang An.

Chu He Jun: ???

Why are they looking at me like that?

I didn’t insult them.

Nian Jin Sui clenched his teeth.

“If you despise me so much, why are you sitting here? Go somewhere else before you ruin my appetite!”

“I didn’t come here for you. I’m here for—”

Chu He Jun caught himself before spilling the beans about Chu He Ting’s instructions to protect Ning Liang An.

He hurriedly changed his tune.

“I can sit wherever I want. What’s it to you?”

Nian Jin Sui, with his omniscient perspective, could guess Chu He Jun’s intentions.

Smirking, he teased,

“Then who did you come to sit with? Could it be Ning—”

Before he could finish, Chu He Jun interrupted in a panic.

“Nian Jin Sui! Just eat your food; it’s getting cold!”

But Nian Jin Sui wasn’t about to let him off so easily.

“Then tell me, who’s the fool?”

Grinding his teeth, Chu He Jun pointed at Ye Kang, who had been eavesdropping from a nearby table.

“He’s the fool!”

Ye Kang: ???

Satisfied, Nian Jin Sui smirked and raised his eyebrows at Chu He Jun before resuming his meal.

That afternoon, Ye Kang happened to encounter Chu He Jun on campus.

Hoping to curry favor with the Chu family, he approached him.

“Second Young Master Chu, we had lunch together earlier. My name is Ye Kang.”

Chu He Jun glanced at him dismissively.

“I know who you are.”

Ye Kang beamed, thinking he’d made an impression, only for Chu He Jun to add,

“I’ve seen the video of you dumping food on Ning Liang An.”

Ye Kang’s smile froze. Hastily, he stammered,

“That… That was an accident! I didn’t mean to…”

“An accident?”

Chu He Jun sneered.

“How about I punch you right now and say I didn’t mean to? How would that feel?”

Ye Kang faltered, then resorted to his usual scapegoating.

“Second Young Master Chu, I was just following young master Nian’s orders. I had no choice…”

Chu He Jun frowned.

“So Nian Jin Sui was bullying Ning Liang An? But they seemed pretty close at lunch today.”

“That’s because young master Nian knew you were coming, so he put on a show to deceive you!”

Ye Kang lied through his teeth.

Although skeptical, Chu He Jun recalled Nian Jin Sui’s notorious antics as a child.

In the end, he believed Ye Kang.

“Hmph. I knew it. A leopard doesn’t change its spots. With his bullying nature, there’s no way Nian Jin Sui suddenly became kind-hearted.”

Ye Kang feigned reluctance.

“I don’t want to bully Ning either, but I can’t disobey young master Nian…”

“If he makes you do it again, come tell me,”

Chu He Jun ordered.

“And don’t think you can wash your hands of it. If I find out you’re involved, you’ll regret it.”

Ye Kang nodded hurriedly.

“Of course, I’ll do my best to talk young master Nian out of it!”

“Now leave.”

“Goodbye, Second Young Master Chu.”

As Ye Kang walked away, his face darkened with anger.

What’s so special about Ning Liang An that he has both Chu brothers wrapped around his finger?

Even Nian Jin Sui has stopped targeting him…

Meanwhile, Chu He Jun mused to himself,

Nian Jin Sui is as scheming as ever, and Ning Liang An is just too naive.

No wonder he’s always on the losing end.

Good thing Ting Ge asked me to protect him.

Nian Jin Sui, worried about Ning Liang An being bullied, often invited him to eat together.

On the other hand, Chu He Jun, worried that Nian Jin Sui might bully Ning Liang An,

frequently joined their meals as well.

With only four seats at the table, Chu He Jun always made Ye Kang give up his seat,

much to Ye Kang’s growing dissatisfaction.

One day, as Chu He Jun signaled Ye Kang to move, Ye Kang ignored him and instead asked,

“Second Young Master Chu, do you know this gentleman here? He’s the second young master of the Qin family.”

Chu He Jun turned his gaze to Qin Cheng Yu.

Up until now, he had only regarded Qin Cheng Yu as Nian Jin Sui’s quiet lackey.

The revelation of his identity caught him off guard.

“I didn’t know the Qin family had a second young master. Isn’t Qin Cheng Lu the only grandson?”

Being overseas most of the time, Chu He Jun wasn’t familiar with Qin family dynamics.

He did, however, know of the business rivalry between the Qin and Chu families.

Ye Kang’s comment was a deliberate attempt to pit Chu He Jun against Qin Cheng Yu,

hoping to make Qin Cheng Yu the new target of exclusion.
