Chapter 33 "Nian Jin Sui Jumped for Love?"

Today marked the first day of the new semester.

When Nian Jin Sui and Qin Cheng Yu stepped out of the same car, they immediately attracted everyone’s attention.

Nian Jin Sui had always been a prominent figure at the Imperial Business Academy.

Over the summer, he had been the center of three major campus gossip topics: the infamous birthday party incident, the rumor of him jumping off a building for love, and the news that Qin Cheng Yu was now living with the Nian family.

Naturally, their appearance together now drew even more curiosity.

“His leg still hasn’t healed? He must’ve really gotten hurt badly. Looks like his love for Young Master Chu is true.”

“True love or not, what’s the point? Even jumping off a building didn’t win back Young Master Chu’s heart.”

These whispered comments reached Nian Jin Sui’s ears, making him grit his teeth.

Who said I jumped for Chu He Ting?!

And they’re spreading it like it’s the truth?

I can’t even clear my name if I tried!

He glared at the two students gossiping nearby and raised his voice,

“Could you two be any louder? I heard every word!”

Startled, the two students hurriedly apologized and fled.

Nian Jin Sui turned to Qin Cheng Yu and asked,

“Qin Cheng Yu, if I told you I didn’t jump for Chu He Ting, would you believe me?”

Without hesitation, Qin Cheng Yu replied,

“No.”

Nian Jin Sui: Damn it!

As they walked away, other students resumed their murmured discussions.

“That’s Qin Cheng Yu pushing Nian Shao’s wheelchair, right? I’ve never seen him at school before.”

“I went to the same high school as Qin Da Shao. Back when Qin Da Shao broke his leg playing basketball, I saw Qin Cheng Yu carrying him up and down the stairs. Looks like he’s still being bossed around—even now that he’s at the Nian family. Who’s going to take him seriously as the second young master of the Qin family?”

“No one did before either, haha…”

Meanwhile, Nian Jin Sui continued chatting with Qin Cheng Yu.

“What’s your major, Qin Cheng Yu?”

“Business Management.”

“I’m in International Business. All my classes today are in Building A. What about you?”

“Most third-year management classes are in Buildings A and B. Even if they’re not the same, they’re close by.”

“Then wait for me at lunchtime.”

“Alright.”

Just then, a voice called out from behind them.

“Young Master Nian!”

Nian Jin Sui turned to see Ning Liang An running up to him, greeting him warmly.

“Young Master Nian, we meet again!”

“Yeah, so soon,”

Nian Jin Sui thought, realizing how quickly Ye Kang had managed to get Ning Liang An transferred here.

“Young Master Nian, did you know? I’ve been transferred here as an exchange student at the Imperial Business Academy!”

Of course, I know,

Nian Jin Sui thought wryly.

I’m the one who made it happen.

Instead of feigning ignorance, he admitted,

“Actually… I’m the one who arranged for the exchange spot.”

Ning Liang An had already suspected this, but hearing Nian Jin Sui say it so openly,

he smiled and said,

“Then I must thank you, Young Master Nian.”

Surprised by Ning Liang An’s genuine gratitude, Nian Jin Sui asked,

“Thank me for what?”

“Exchange spots at the Imperial Business Academy are rare. Having this experience will make finding a job after graduation easier. Plus, exchange students get special incentives. The academy even waived my tuition and is providing me with a scholarship, considering my family’s situation.”

The Imperial Business Academy was rich beyond measure, with most of its students coming from wealthy families.

Its financial aid programs were largely decorative since no one met the criteria.

Now that someone like Ning Liang An had appeared, the academy was eager to make use of him.

Hearing this, Nian Jin Sui started to feel like bringing Ning Liang An here might have been a good idea after all.

Was this fate’s way of flipping the script?

Still pondering, Nian Jin Sui heard Ning Liang An ask,

“Young Master Nian, I need to go to Building B. What about you?”

“I’m in Building A, right next to it,”

Nian Jin Sui replied.

“Which way should we go?”

Ning Liang An asked, staring at the fork in the road.

Nian Jin Sui: …

Good question. I’d like to know that too.

Although he had the original host’s memories, he’d been too busy chatting with Qin Cheng Yu earlier to pay attention to where they were going.

Now, looking at the nearly identical paths, he wasn’t sure.

“Let’s go this way,” he decided, choosing the busier path.

Seeing that Qin Cheng Yu didn’t object, Nian Jin Sui felt reassured.

Whew, I must’ve picked the right one.

Can’t let anyone know I don’t even know where the classrooms are.

They walked for quite a while, heading further and further from their destination without finding Building A.

Ning Liang An asked hesitantly,

“Young Master Nian, class is about to start. How much farther is it?”

Realizing how unfamiliar the surroundings looked, Nian Jin Sui inwardly panicked. The original host rarely attended classes and hadn’t explored the campus fully.

Unable to answer, he passed the question to Qin Cheng Yu.

“Qin Cheng Yu, you tell him.”

“It’ll take 15 minutes to walk back,”

Qin Cheng Yu replied calmly.

Nian Jin Sui: !!!

So we’ve been going the wrong way?!

He turned to glare at Qin Cheng Yu.

“Why didn’t you say something earlier?”

Qin Cheng Yu met his gaze steadily.

“I figured you had your reasons.”

Nian Jin Sui: …

Qin Cheng Yu:

I don’t understand, but I respect your decisions.

Ning Liang An eventually reached Building B.

Building A, with only four floors and no elevators, had Nian Jin Sui’s first class in a large lecture hall on the ground floor.

“This is your classroom, right? Go on, Qin Cheng Yu—you’re almost late,”

Nian Jin Sui urged.

“Alright,”

Qin Cheng Yu replied, but after wheeling Nian Jin Sui to the door, he hesitated.

Instead of leaving, he turned the wheelchair toward the accessible entrance.

“What’s wrong?”

Nian Jin Sui asked, puzzled.

“You don’t look like the type to sit in the front row,”

Qin Cheng Yu said matter-of-factly.

Hearing this, Nian Jin Sui chuckled.

“You really know me well. I’ll take it from here.”

“Alright.”

Qin Cheng Yu let go of the wheelchair and walked away.

Watching him leave, Nian Jin Sui reflected.

Despite being five years younger, Qin Cheng Yu was far more thoughtful and considerate than himself.

How did such a kind and attentive person turn into the novel’s dark and bitter villain?

The world has been too unfair to him.

Determined, Nian Jin Sui resolved to treat his “little brother” even better from now on.
