SDS: Chapter 70

"The Capital's Top Beauty" Qin Corporation. "Mr. William, haven't you already met with President Qin? Is there something else you need here?" Tang Keyi maintained his last shred of patience as he faced William, who was scrutinizing  him without restraint. Tang Keyi thought to himself,  Could it be that he can't bear to part with Qin Zhiyan and wants to wait outside just to catch a few more glances of him? William withdrew his scrutinizing gaze, thinking that this little assistant was indeed good-looking.  He probably won Qin Zhiyan over with this face. Instead of answering,  William picked up the nameplate on the desk, glanced at it, and said "Tang Keyi? Your name is quite cute." Tang Keyi sneered inwardly.  Your intentions have been exposed by me. Don't even think about trying to cozy up to me. "Thank you so much for the compliment, Mr. William." Feeling Tang Keyi's obvious hostility, William simply assumed he was upset on Q...

MSRBMH Ch 38

Ji Yanli fell silent, rooted in the doorway like a door god.

After saying all that, Su Yu started a new game. He played for a few minutes on the bed, then let out a long sigh and looked up at the man before him.

He didn't know if it was because his words had been too harsh earlier,

but Ji Yanli now resembled a big dog kicked out of the house—dejected, hanging his head,

keeping his distance.

"I really can't stand you. Are you planning to stand there all night?"

Still no response to this.

Su Yu suddenly felt the game in his hands wasn't as fun anymore.

A wave of irritation washed over him, and he ruffled his own hair in frustration.

"Alright, enough with that look. What do you want?"

Only upon hearing this did Ji Yanli finally move.

He slowly lifted his head, his expression calm, pushing his luck

"From now on, you have to reply to all my messages."

"Fine, fine, whatever. I give up. I'll reply."

Su Yu sat cross-legged on the bed.

After all, he was Ji Yanli's assistant; replying to messages was part of his job anyway—outside of work hours, that is.

Ji Yanli took a few steps toward the bed.

"You have to tell me everywhere you go."

Dressed head-to-toe in black, his presence was overwhelmingly oppressive. Su Yu felt the air around him grow colder as the man approached.

He gritted his teeth and agreed, "Fine. I'll even tell you when I take a shit, okay?"

But it wasn't over.

The man stopped beside the bed, looking down at him from his height.

"No talking to Shen Xingyan alone."

Give him an inch, and he'll take a mile.

"Alright, that's enough."

Su Yu didn't answer the last demand. Even though Ji Yanli had amnesia and needed indulging, Su Yu had his limits too.

Ji Yanli's gaze deepened.

"Forget the previous demands. I only want the last one."

His voice was cold and hard, as if he held some eight-generation-old grudge against Shen Xingyan.

[Aiya, just say you're jealous. Little baby Yu would understand~]

[Feels like Post-Amnesia Ji is much more direct. So refreshing.]

[Even with amnesia, he can spot a love rival in a crowd, huh?]

Jealous…?

Was Ji Yanli… jealous?

Su Yu looked up at him.

Backlit by the lamp, his expression was hard to make out.

"Why? It's not a big deal if I chat with Shen Xingyan, right?"

"It makes me unhappy."

Ji Yanli leaned down, planting a hand on the bed beside Su Yu.

As he drew close, his warm breath brushed against the side of Su Yu's neck.

"Wife, it makes me unhappy when you chat with other men."

As if afraid Su Yu hadn't heard clearly, he repeated it.

The ticklish sensation at his ear made Su Yu's stomach tighten. He raised a hand, pressed it against Ji Yanli's cheek, and pushed him away.

"Don't get so close."

Admittedly, the pre-amnesia Ji Yanli always felt somewhat distant to him, never missing a chance for a cold sneer or a sarcastic remark.

The current Ji Yanli was more like a living person—clingy, fiercely possessive, and utterly overwhelming.

Was he like this only with Su Yu, or could he be like this with anyone?

Realizing what he was thinking, Su Yu's face grew hot.

He flopped back onto the bed, yanking the covers over his head.

His voice, muffled by the quilt, came through: "Alright, I'm going to sleep now. Get out."

A minute later, a heavy weight settled on his abdomen. Su Yu, sensing trouble, threw the covers off to find Ji Yanli had also climbed onto the bed, one arm resting on Su Yu's quilt.

"Who said you could get up here? Get off!"

He had never shared a bed with anyone since he was a child, and the presence of such a large man beside him felt especially pronounced.

"Wife, I'll sleep with you."

The man's low, husky voice held a note of restraint.

He rested his forehead against Su Yu's shoulder, nuzzling gently twice—an utterly tormenting gesture.

All night, Su Yu's heart had been yanked up and down by Ji Yanli, and now it was racing uncontrollably.

Damn it, stop pounding! Stop right now!

"Get off. Hurry up. You're filthy—you haven't even showered!"

Like a puppy given permission, Ji Yanli lifted his head, his eyes fixed on Su Yu's face.

"If I shower, can we sleep together then?"

Su Yu didn't answer.

He couldn't bring himself to say it, because even he didn't know what he was thinking at that moment.

Taking the silence as consent, the man quickly got up.

Before leaving, he didn't forget to add, "Wife, remember to open the door for me later."

Only when the room was quiet again did Su Yu, lying still, suddenly fish his phone out from under the pillow.

Seizing every second, he opened the search engine, his fingers flying across the screen, typing and deleting.

[Can't refuse my sworn rival…]

No. Su Yu deleted most of it and typed anew into the search bar:

[My heart races when my sworn rival gets close. Is this a precursor to heart disease?]

The search results were mostly from forums.

At the top was a highly popular post.

The OP seemed to share his woes: "Folks, there's someone I hate lately, but I've been feeling like I don't hate them as much anymore. Sometimes I even forget to refuse their physical contact. Am I terminally ill? Should I see a psychiatrist?"

The replies were a mixed bag.

"[Don't Break My CP]: A sworn rival is just the spouse you chose for yourself..."

"[Rotten Cucumbers Get Off Earth]: Is this some newfangled way to promote a novel? Sauce, please."

"[Work Gave Me Mental Illness]: I'm a doctor. Diagnosis: You're in love with him."

Su Yu scrolled for a long time.

Most responses were along similar lines. He didn't know how long he had been reading when a knock sounded at the door. Startled as if caught red-handed, he nearly threw his phone under the bed.

He jumped off the bed, pulled the door open, and sneered inwardly.

How could I possibly like Ji Yanli? Am I crazy?

Impossible.

If I were going to like him, I would have long ago.

Besides, Ji Yanli isn't even my type…

As Su Yu opened the door, a faint scent of shower gel washed over him, carrying the dampness of a recent bath.

Ji Yanli wore a simple white bathrobe, the collar blatantly open, the valley between his well-defined pecs particularly conspicuous. His well-toned physique was shamelessly on display right before Su Yu's eyes.

Every train of thought in Su Yu's brain short-circuited. He immediately turned and dove back into bed.

Seriously?

Who's he showing off for?

As if I don't have pecs myself?

The door closed. Soon after, the bed dipped slightly as Ji Yanli climbed in.

He stared at the back turned to him, lifted the covers, snuggled close, and let out a contented, low sigh.

Someone was thoroughly pleased, but Su Yu, pressed against, felt half his back go numb.

He stiffened and pushed back with a hand.

"Sleep on your own side. Don't get so close."

"Wife, you're so soft to hold."

Ji Yanli, pushing his luck, gave Su Yu's waist a squeeze.

Su Yu shuddered violently, reacting almost instinctively by swatting backwards.

By coincidence, the force landed on Ji Yanli's jaw, slightly above.

"Have some shame, will you? Getting handsy in the middle of the night? If you grope me again, get out and don't sleep here!"

[Midnight snack is served!]

[Who's keeping count of how many slaps this makes for CEO Ji...]

[Seriously, where's the VIP button? They're already in the same bed and still no 'inspection'?]

Su Yu lay like a corpse on the bed, utterly defeated.

If only he could mute these bullet comments with one click...

and toss the dog beside him out while he was at it.
