SDS: Chapter 62

 The Tension Thickens

Qin Zhiyan chuckled softly, wrapping his arms around Tang Keyi’s waist.

"Do you think everyone cares about face as much as you do? Even if others find out, it doesn’t matter—they wouldn’t dare gossip about me."

Tang Keyi pursed his lips and stared at Qin Zhiyan for a long moment before asking,

"Yanyan, why are you so good to me?"

His damp, dark eyes gleamed like black pearls freshly plucked from the sea, shimmering with a watery luster.

Qin Zhiyan tightened his grip on Tang Keyi’s waist, pulling him closer. One hand slid up to cradle the back of Tang Keyi’s head, gently tilting it downward as he leaned in, pressing a light kiss to his brow.

The faint ticklish sensation made Tang Keyi tilt his head away slightly. He braced his hands against Qin Zhiyan’s chest to create some distance, murmuring softly, "That tickles..."

Qin Zhiyan paused, lowering his head to rest his forehead against Tang Keyi’s chin, whispering, "You really don’t know why I’m so good to you?"

"Because you like me?"

"Mmm." Qin Zhiyan’s throat bobbed, his voice husky. "I like you. Only you."

[Ah, I really don’t know what to do with Qin Zhiyan.]

Qin Zhiyan chuckled lowly and asked, "What about you?"

Tang Keyi answered earnestly, "Of course, me too. I only like you. In my whole life, you’re the only one I’ve ever liked."

Qin Zhiyan tilted his head up in satisfaction, his kisses as delicate as the gentle spring rain in March, softly trailing down Tang Keyi’s fair, slender neck.

Tang Keyi wore a simple white T-shirt, its loose collar revealing a glimpse of his delicate collarbone.

With just one glance, Qin Zhiyan’s gaze lingered, his lips following his thoughts downward.

Tang Keyi’s hands instinctively began to wander over Qin Zhiyan’s body.

[Finally got to touch those abs.]

[Kinda want to kiss here...]

Tang Keyi’s hands were typical of a young master from a wealthy family—soft and tender, like fresh bamboo shoots, having never lifted anything heavy or developed a single callous in his life.

Now, those hands were freely exploring Qin Zhiyan’s abs, instantly igniting a fire within him.

The atmosphere grew increasingly charged.

Qin Zhiyan’s large hand couldn’t resist slipping under Tang Keyi’s shirt, his mind echoing Tang Keyi’s earlier words.

So fair, so tender everywhere.

Finally, I get to see...

Suddenly, a phone ringtone shattered the moment.

Both of them snapped back to reality, pulling apart slightly, breathing heavily.

Flustered, Tang Keyi fished his phone out of his pocket and glanced at the screen.

It was Grandma Tang.

[Ah, Grandma really has perfect timing.]

Disappointed, Tang Keyi answered the call.

Qin Zhiyan rested his head on Tang Keyi’s shoulder, listening as he responded with a series of "Mhm" and "Okay."

After hanging up, Tang Keyi cupped Qin Zhiyan’s face and planted a loud, smacking kiss on his forehead. "Thank you for not telling Grandma about last night. She said since you’re here, we might as well have a meal together."

"Sure."

Tang Keyi added, "But it’s with my whole family. Will you be uncomfortable?"

Qin Zhiyan thought to himself that such a small gathering was hardly enough to unsettle him.

"I’ll have to meet them sooner or later. The earlier I get used to it, the better."

"Don’t worry, I won’t let anyone in my family bully you. I’ll protect you," Tang Keyi promised, looping his arms around Qin Zhiyan’s neck.

Qin Zhiyan stroked Tang Keyi’s slender waist through the fabric, playing along. "Alright, I’ll count on you then."

"Leave it to me!" Tang Keyi agreed cheerfully.

The Tang family had reserved a large private room at a restaurant in Nancheng. When Qin Zhiyan and Tang Keyi arrived, the Tang family was gathered around the sofa sipping tea. At the sound of their entrance, all eyes turned toward them.

Under normal circumstances, given Qin Zhiyan’s status, he would never be the first to speak. But today, he was attending as Tang Keyi’s boyfriend. Since Tang Keyi was the youngest in the Tang family hierarchy, Qin Zhiyan naturally had to humble himself and adopt the demeanor of a true junior.

With sincere deference, Qin Zhiyan greeted each one in turn: "Grandma Tang, Mr. Tang, Mrs. Tang, Second Uncle Tang, Second Aunt Tang, Elder Brother Tang, Sister-in-law Tang, Second Brother Tang, Second Sister-in-law Tang, Third Brother Tang, Third Sister-in-law Tang, Fourth Brother Tang, Fourth Sister-in-law Tang. Happy New Year to you all. I came in a hurry this time and didn’t prepare gifts—that was my oversight. I’ll make up for it when we return to the capital."

His words were humble and polite, though his expression remained as composed and unruffled as ever. Even so, it was enough to leave the Tang family exchanging bewildered glances.

Who had ever been greeted by Qin Zhiyan like this? Originally, they had been quite displeased that Qin Zhiyan had whisked Tang Keyi away as soon as he arrived in Nancheng, keeping him out all night. But faced with such deference, they found it hard to stay indignant.

Tang Kexing, however, wasn’t ready to let Qin Zhiyan off the hook. With a stern expression, he said, "I really don’t deserve to be called ‘Elder Brother’ by President Qin. The moment you arrived, you made our Xiao Wu stay out all night. Do you not take the Tang family seriously?"

Grandma Tang shot Tang Kexing a warning look before turning back to Qin Zhiyan with a kindly smile.

"Zhiyan, you’re so thoughtful. Now that everyone’s here, let’s take our seats."

With Grandma Tang’s decree, the group rose and moved to the dining table.

Tang Keyi gave Qin Zhiyan a look, signaling him to go ahead, while he quickened his pace to grab Tang Kexing.

Noticing this, Tang Keli and the other three brothers also gathered around.

Tang Keyi grumbled in a low voice, "Big Brother, don’t be so harsh on Qin Zhiyan!"

Tang Kexing flicked Tang Keyi’s forehead.

"You stayed out all night, and I haven’t even settled accounts with you yet. Now you’re blaming me?"

Tang Keli chimed in, "You’ve only been together for a short while, and already you’re siding with him. What’ll happen later?"

Just as Tang Keyi was about to retort,

Tang Keyan,

sharp-eyed, pointed at Tang Keyi’s collarbone. "Xiao Wu, why is this spot red..."

Before he could finish, realization dawned on him, and his expression darkened.

The other three brothers followed his gaze, their eyes all locking onto the same spot.
