SDS: Chapter 59
"Let Me Punish You Properly"
After getting off the plane, Qin Zhiyan immediately asked for Tang Keyi's address.
However, dragging a suitcase around was inconvenient, so he first went to the hotel to drop off his luggage before heading to the KTV where Tang Keyi was.
Just as Qin Zhiyan stepped out of the taxi, a group of young people brushed past him.
It seemed like they were supporting a drunk person in their midst, but since the person was blocked from view, Qin Zhiyan only caught a brief glance and didn’t get a clear look.
He didn’t pay it much mind and was about to walk inside when suddenly, a familiar voice rang in his ears.
[Yanyan…]
[I miss Yanyan so much.]
Qin Zhiyan abruptly halted in his tracks.
His gaze swept around before immediately locking onto the retreating figures of that group of young people.
“Stop right there!”
In a few quick strides, Qin Zhiyan caught up to them.
One of the young men stepped forward, shielding Tang Keyi behind him, and asked with feigned calm,
“Excuse me, sir, can we help you?”
Qin Zhiyan had already concluded that the drunk person in their midst was Tang Keyi.
His expression darkened instantly, his eyes as cold and menacing as a vengeful ghost emerging from the underworld.
“Move.”
The young man had never encountered such an intimidating presence before and, frightened, instinctively shuffled aside.
Sure enough,
it was Tang Keyi.
The moment Qin Zhiyan saw Tang Keyi in a semi-conscious state, his fury surged.
He was about to pull Tang Keyi over when a woman suddenly blocked his way.
“What do you think you’re doing? He’s our friend. This has nothing to do with you,”
Xixi said, forcing a calm tone. She wasn’t about to let her prey slip away.
Qin Zhiyan smirked coldly.
“Nothing to do with me?”
Tang Keyi seemed to have heard Qin Zhiyan’s voice and murmured weakly,
“Yanyan… Yanyan…”
Qin Zhiyan swept a glance over the group of young people, pulling out his phone to send a message while asking,
“So, which one of you is Yanyan?”
One of the men thought to himself that since Tang Keyi was just a tourist and had no acquaintances in Haicheng, this man was likely just a random do-gooder.
With that in mind, he pointed at Xixi and said,
“Her! She’s Yanyan! Sir, I know you mean well and think we might be bad people, but don’t worry, he’s our friend!”
Xixi quickly chimed in,
“That’s right, I’m Yanyan, and he’s my boyfriend. Mind your own business!”
“That’s the most ridiculous lie I’ve ever heard.”
A flash of ruthlessness passed through Qin Zhiyan’s eyes.
Before anyone could react, he suddenly lashed out with a kick, sending Xixi sprawling to the ground.
“How dare you hit a woman!”
The three men exchanged glances, immediately realizing that this man probably knew Tang Keyi.
Still, three against one—they had nothing to fear.
Their expressions turned vicious.
“Picking on a woman? If you’ve got the guts, come at us!”
Qin Zhiyan’s eyes grew even more violent, his voice low and dangerous.
“Don’t worry. None of you are getting away.”
As if they had planned it in advance, the two men supporting Tang Keyi suddenly shoved him toward Qin Zhiyan.
Qin Zhiyan caught Tang Keyi with one arm, wrapping it tightly around his waist, while his other hand abruptly intercepted an incoming fist, then swiftly countered with a kick.
As the head of the Qin family, Qin Zhiyan was naturally skilled in all areas of combat.
Three reckless thugs would normally be no match for him.
But with Tang Keyi clinging to him, his movements were restricted.
To protect Tang Keyi, he ended up taking a few punches.
Given his status, Qin Zhiyan had trained in techniques to quickly incapacitate opponents in case of emergencies like kidnappings.
He grabbed one man’s fist and violently twisted it downward, eliciting a sharp cry of pain.
Qin Zhiyan’s strikes grew fiercer, each punch aimed at vital points, each kick targeting kneecaps.
Soon, the three men were left groaning on the ground.
Just then, the distant sound of police sirens echoed through the air.
Several police cars approached rapidly, soon pulling to a stop in front of them.
Xixi and the other girl immediately rushed toward the officers, pointing at Qin Zhiyan and crying,
“Help! Arrest him! He attacked us!”
To their shock, the officers instead handcuffed Xixi and her friend, then turned to Qin Zhiyan.
“President Qin, are you alright? The chief sent us as soon as he got the message.”
“I’m fine.”
Qin Zhiyan had contacted authorities directly through his connections in the capital. He hadn’t expected the response to be so swift.
He looked down at Tang Keyi, who was still dazed and unsteady.
His icy gaze fixed on Xixi as he demanded,
“What did you give him?”
Realizing they had provoked someone far beyond their reach, Xixi didn’t dare hide anything.
“Just… just a sedative. He’ll be fine after sleeping it off.”
Qin Zhiyan’s expression darkened.
“Take them away. We’ll come to the station tomorrow to give our statements.”
“Understood, President Qin.”
Qin Zhiyan lifted Tang Keyi into his arms, hailed another taxi, and headed straight back to his hotel.
——
Nestled in Qin Zhiyan’s embrace, Tang Keyi gradually relaxed, even nuzzling closer to him, drawn by the familiar scent.
“Yanyan…”
“Still calling for Yanyan? If I hadn’t shown up, you would’ve spent the night with some random ‘Yanyan' .’”
Qin Zhiyan gripped Tang Keyi’s shoulders, then pinched his earlobe in light punishment.
He guessed that Tang Keyi wouldn’t want his family to know about tonight’s incident,
so it’d be best if he personally informed the Tang family.
With that thought, Qin Zhiyan dialed Old Lady Tang’s number.
Though surprised to hear that Qin Zhiyan was in Nan City, the moment Old Lady Tang learned that Tang Keyi would be staying overnight with him,
she immediately agreed—her tone even carrying a hint of delight.
At the moment, Qin Zhiyan had no mind to dwell on Old Lady Tang’s implications.
Once back at the hotel, he carried Tang Keyi straight to their room.
He removed Tang Keyi’s shoes and coat, tucked him into bed, then used a warm towel to gently clean his hands and face.
Only then did Qin Zhiyan realize just how accustomed he had become to taking care of Tang Keyi like this.
He lightly pinched Tang Keyi’s nose and murmured,
“You’re the only one I’d ever do this for, Tangtang.”
Tang Keyi let out a soft, disgruntled noise,
prompting a low chuckle from Qin Zhiyan before he released him and headed to the bathroom to shower.
After finishing his bath, Qin Zhiyan slipped under the covers.
Like a young animal instinctively seeking its mother’s warmth, Tang Keyi immediately burrowed into his arms.
“You really are a handful. I ought to punish you properly.”
Qin Zhiyan pressed a light kiss to Tang Keyi’s forehead, intending to stop there.
But the weight of his longing, combined with the lingering fear from tonight’s events, made the emotions in his heart surge uncontrollably.
His lips trailed over Tang Keyi’s docile brows and eyes, then drifted to the earlobe adorned with a red mole, before finally settling on those rosy lips, where they lingered in a slow, tender exploration.
Tang Keyi, still lost in haze, accepted it all without resistance.
