"Tang Keyi insists on being the top—you really wanna get pinned down by him?"
"Bullshit! He’s just saving face! If he ever fell into my hands, I’d mold him however I—"
As the two men rounded the corner, their voices cut off abruptly.
"Q-Q-Qin… President Qin!"
Their eyes bulged, tongues nearly bitten off in shock.
The person they’d just been trash-talking had materialized before them.
And given Qin Zhiyan’s thunderous expression,
he’d heard everything.
The loudmouth clung to one hope:
Qin Zhiyan’s never reciprocated Tang Keyi’s obsession.
Surely he won’t defend him…
Qin Yilin sighed inwardly.
These two are royally screwed.
While Qin Zhiyan didn’t recognize them, Qin Yilin did.
He broke the ice first:
"Young Master Han, Young Master Liu—here for a ride too?"
"Y-yes! What a coincidence running into you both!"
"We won’t disturb you further. Enjoy your day!"
They tried to slink away, but Qin Zhiyan wasn’t having it.
"We’ve only just met. Yulin, introduce them properly."
His glacial tone and narrowed eyes promised retribution.
Qin Yilin obliged:
"This ‘Young Master Han’ is a distant branch of the Han family—barely related. Runs some small business. The one with verbal diarrhea is Liu. Family sells liquor. They cling to the Han name to sneak into places like this."
The so-called introductions were pure humiliation.
The pair exchanged mortified glances but dared not protest—
their "companies" were ants beneath the Qin empire’s feet.
Qin Zhiyan nodded. "Good. I’ll remember."
That mild statement sent cold sweat down their spines.
Is he marking us for revenge?
A word from him could ruin them.
Han shot Liu a venomous glare before forcing a smile.
"President Qin, our trivial affairs aren’t worth your attention. Let us host a dinner to apologize!"
"No need. You didn’t offend me."
A pause.
"If apologizing, find the right person."
Not him? Then…
Tang Keyi?!
Their blood ran cold.
Backhanded gossip was one thing
admitting it to Tang Keyi’s face would be suicidal.
Liu wiped his brow.
"President Qin, have mercy! My mouth runs foul—I deserve this!"
He began slapping his own face.
Qin Zhiyan had no intention of exposing Tang Keyi to their filth.
"Too light."
Liu hit harder.
When Qin Zhiyan’s blade-like gaze shifted to Han, the man stammered,
"M-me too? I barely said anything!"
But under that pressure, Han joined the self-flagellation, cursing Liu internally.
"Five minutes. Don’t stop early."
With that, Qin Zhiyan strode past them, leading his horse.
Qin Yilin caught up, grinning.
"Defending Tang Keyi’s honor?"
"No."
Qin Zhiyan didn’t miss a beat.
"They mentioned me too."
"Suuure."
Qin Yilin’s skepticism couldn’t be clearer.
Behind them, Han whispered,
"He’s gone. Do we… keep going?"
Liu eyed the surveillance cameras.
"Better finish. Five full minutes."
"You’ve ruined me!"
At the riding track entrance,
Qin Zhiyan’s gaze locked onto Tang Keyi’s figure galloping in the distance.
He mounted his horse in one fluid motion—all effortless grace.
When Qin Yilin tried to chat, Qin Zhiyan cut him off:
"Shut up. Keep dawdling, and Han Qiuqiu will leave."
A crack of the whip, and he was off in a cloud of dust.
Qin Yilin coughed.
"You mean Tang Keyi will leave."
He urged his horse after him.
Hearing hoofbeats, Han Qiuqiu turned—
only to scowl.
"Qin Yilin?! How’d you get in?"
"Wherever Qin Zhiyan goes, I follow."
Qin Yilin smirked.
"No gates closed to us."
Han Qiuqiu flipped him off and spurred his horse ahead.
"Han Qiuqiu! I’m coming for you!"
Qin Yilin called after him, the double entendre obvious.
Unlike his cousin, Qin Zhiyan didn’t chase.
He ambled along, waiting for Tang Keyi to notice him.
Instead, Tang Keyi blew past like a gust of wind—
oblivious and cheerfully humming.
[I want to fly higher, fly higher~]
Qin Zhiyan: …
This "unrequited love" act is unconvincing.
He didn’t even glance my way.
Watching Tang Keyi recede,
Qin Zhiyan noted how the white shirt and black riding pants cinched his slender waist,
the long legs straddling the horse with practiced ease.
Then Liu’s earlier words resurfaced in his mind…
That backside really is…
Pleasing.
On Tang Keyi’s next lap, Qin Zhiyan finally called out:
"Tang Keyi."
Pulling the reins, Tang Keyi blinked in surprise.
"President Qin? You ride too?"
"Mn."
Tang Keyi guided his horse closer.
"Here with Qin Yilin? I saw him earlier."
"Yes."
You saw him but not me?
[Qin Zhiyan looks especially dashing today—like the prince from a fairy tale.]
[Wait, no! I’m on the white horse. I’m the prince!]
"Well… I won’t disturb you."
Having fulfilled social niceties, Tang Keyi tried to turn his horse—
only for it to stubbornly refuse.
