The Tsundere CEO
"You're welcome. Glad you like it."
Tang Keyi pressed his lips together, then added,
"Happy birthday."
Truthfully, Qin Zhiyan hadn’t celebrated his birthday in years.
Without Tang Keyi’s reminder, he might’ve forgotten entirely.
He didn’t care for such things—considered them a waste of time.
But this time?
Not bad.
The next day,
Qin Yilin seized an opportunity to probe Qin Zhiyan.
"So, what’d Tang Keyi get you for your birthday?"
"This."
Qin Zhiyan raised his left hand and gave it a slight shake.
"That watch?"
Qin Yilin recognized the brand at a glance.
"The new limited edition? Guess Tang Keyi didn’t skimp on you."
Qin Zhiyan shot him a look reserved for the intellectually deficient.
"I bought the watch. I meant the bracelet."
He tapped the cord beside it.
Qin Yilin gaped.
"That… thing? Looks like a roadside trinket. The craftsmanship’s awful. You’re actually wearing it?"
"He made it himself."
Qin Zhiyan withdrew his hand, tone neutral—but if you listened closely,
there was a hint of pride.
"Oh-ho…" Qin Yilin smirked.
"So he does like you. And here I thought he was faking it."
Qin Zhiyan didn’t respond.
No need to admit he’d strong-armed it out of Tang Keyi.
"Since when do you lower your standards?" Qin Yilin pressed.
"That ugly thing’s the opposite of your aesthetic. Plus, you never accept gifts."
A shadow flickered in Qin Zhiyan’s eyes at the teasing.
"Just humoring him," he said flatly.
Qin Yilin knew better than to push further,
but internally rolled his eyes.
Tsundere.
That weekend, the aforementioned tsundere was enjoying a leisurely afternoon in his room,
reading, when Qin Yilin called.
"Zhiyan, wanna go horseback riding later?"
"Busy."
Qin Zhiyan rejected him without hesitation—or an excuse.
"You sure? Tang Keyi’s going."
Qin Zhiyan’s finger paused mid-page-turn.
"How do you know?"
"He posted it on his feed. Don’t tell me you still haven’t added him?"
Qin Yilin’s voice dripped with mock pity.
"Wow. Not even friends online."
Qin Zhiyan’s expression froze for a split second.
"What did he post?"
"Lunch pics with Qiuqiu. Said they’re hitting the stables later—probably the Han family’s. I’m going. You in?"
Qin Zhiyan stared at the dense English text in his book,
his previously calm mind now too turbulent to absorb a single word.
"Well?" Qin Yilin pressed.
Qin Zhiyan shut the book.
"Send the address."
"Zhiyan, this is what we call ‘tsundere behavior.’"
When Qin Zhiyan arrived at the stables, he found Qin Yilin’s car blocked at the entrance,
its owner arguing with a guard.
He stepped out to investigate.
"Apologies, Young Master Qin,"
the guard said awkwardly.
"Our young master’s orders: ‘Qin Yilin and dogs are not permitted entry.’ So… please turn back."
Qin Yilin was about to protest when he spotted Qin Zhiyan.
His face lit up.
"Zhiyan! Help me out here!"
"I came down to tell you to move your car," Qin Zhiyan said coolly.
"You’re in my way."
"They won’t let me in!" Qin Yilin whined.
"I heard. But I can enter."
Qin Yilin stared, realization dawning.
This is payback for mocking him about Tang Keyi’s contact.
Qin Zhiyan, the vindictive Scorpio, had a mental ledger of every slight—
and Qin Yilin, as a lifelong offender, knew the drill.
"Zhiyan, we’re brothers! Do me a solid!"
"You knew you’d be barred. That’s why you invited me."
Caught red-handed, Qin Yilin switched tactics.
"Boss Qin! I was wrong! I genuinely wanted to ride with you! From now on, I’ll screenshot Tang Keyi’s posts for you ASAP!"
Unfazed, Qin Zhiyan pulled out his phone and dialed.
"Patriarch Han…"
Qin Yilin’s thumbs-up was immediate.
Two minutes later, the guard bowed them through the gates.
After changing into riding gear,
Qin Zhiyan and Qin Yilin headed to the stables to pick their horses.
A worker led out two glossy thoroughbreds.
"The patriarch personally requested these for you. They’re racehorses—usually off-limits to guests."
Qin Yilin clapped Qin Zhiyan’s shoulder.
"Perks of riding with you. You pick first."
Qin Zhiyan chose the taller stallion, running a hand along its mane to bond.
Qin Yilin took the other and casually asked,
"Are Young Master Han and Tang Keyi here yet?"
"They arrived earlier—probably finished a lap by now." The worker chuckled.
"Funny thing: the mare Tang Keyi picked is currently breeding with your stallion. They’re inseparable. He almost couldn’t get her to budge earlier."
Qin Yilin felt twin daggers of glare from beside him.
Meeting Qin Zhiyan’s eyes, he instantly yielded.
"Boss Qin, this one’s yours."
Qin Zhiyan swapped horses without hesitation.
The abandoned stallion:
So love is fleeting? Weren’t you all over me a second ago?
"Just a heads-up,"
the worker added.
"Best keep your distance from Tang Keyi. If the horses get too close, they’ll cling, and good luck separating them then."
"Mn."
Qin Zhiyan’s reply was noncommittal.
As they led their horses out, boisterous laughter echoed from around the corner.
"Did you see Tang Keyi on that horse? The way he moved… damn near got me hard. Why’s he chasing Qin Zhiyan? If he came after me, I’d say yes in a heartbeat!"
