Those who knew Tang Keyi’s identity immediately dismissed the accusation,
while those who didn’t wore expressions of disdain,
murmuring among themselves and enjoying the spectacle.
"Bullshit!"
Tang Keyi, infuriated by Chen Zhudong’s words, raised the broom again,
ready to charge, but Qin Zhiyan snatched it away and tossed it aside.
Qin Zhiyan knew the truth couldn’t be as Chen Zhudong claimed.
His gaze fell on the ruby bracelet around Tang Keyi’s wrist, and he asked sternly,
"Explain first. How did the bracelet end up with you?"
Out of respect for Qin Zhiyan, Tang Keyi reluctantly explained,
"This bastard took it out and asked me to evaluate it. I liked it, so I tried it on."
Qin Zhiyan pressed further,
"Then why did you hit him?"
"Because..."
Tang Keyi opened his mouth to explain but immediately shut it again,
stammering incoherently.
Chen Zhudong, seeing Tang Keyi’s hesitation, grew even more smug.
"He can’t explain! Because the truth is exactly what I said—he’s a thief!"
In Chen Zhudong’s mind, Tang Keyi was guilty—
not only involved with Qin Zhiyan but also secretly seducing others behind his back.
If exposed, Tang Keyi would be in deep trouble.
But Tang Keyi’s reluctance wasn’t due to any shady reasons—it was pure embarrassment.
[How can I say this creep wanted me to ‘accompany’ him for three days and tried to grope me? That’s so humiliating! Where would I, the untouchable young master of the capital, put my face? With so many people here, it’ll spread like wildfire by tomorrow. No way am I saying it!]
Tang Keyi’s face flushed red with anger, and he finally gritted out,
"It’s not like I can’t afford it. Why would I steal?"
"What did you say?"
Qin Zhiyan’s expression darkened instantly,
like storm clouds gathering before a tempest,
carrying an ominous, suffocating fury.
Tang Keyi froze, thinking Qin Zhiyan was angry at him for causing trouble and making a scene.
[Why is Qin Zhiyan so mad at me?]
[I’m the one who’s wronged here.]
[I’ve never been insulted like this in my life.]
Seeing Tang Keyi’s pitiful expression, eyes glistening with unshed tears,
Qin Zhiyan’s rage came to an abrupt halt.
Unfortunately, Chen Zhudong, unaware of his impending doom, kept running his mouth.
"This bracelet is worth a million! Can a mere assistant like you afford that?"
Qin Zhiyan softened his tone slightly.
"Give me your hand."
Tang Keyi shuddered and hid his hands behind his back.
[Why does he want my hand? Is he going to hit me?]
Suppressing his fury until it physically ached,
Qin Zhiyan used the gentlest tone he’d ever mustered.
"I won’t hit you. Be good. Give me your hand."
Tang Keyi stared at Qin Zhiyan as if seeing him for the first time,
blinking in confusion before slowly extending his hand.
Qin Zhiyan immediately removed the bracelet and
patted Tang Keyi’s fluffy head reassuringly.
"Don’t worry. I believe you. I’ll handle this."
Without waiting for a response, Qin Zhiyan turned,
his murderous aura intensifying.
The rage he’d held back now surged like a dam bursting,
unstoppable and overwhelming.
Before Qin Zhiyan even reached Chen Zhudong,
the bracelet was already hurled at his forehead, drawing blood instantly.
Chen Zhudong barely had time to scream before Qin Zhiyan
snatched a wine bottle from a nearby server’s tray and smashed it over his head.
"President Qin!"
The host tried to intervene, but one icy glare from Qin Zhiyan rooted him to the spot.
With a flick of his wrist, the second bottle met the same fate.
These weren’t flimsy beer bottles—they were thick, heavy liquor bottles.
Two blows like that could easily cause a concussion.
But Qin Zhiyan wasn’t done.
Calmly, as if taking a leisurely stroll,
he loosened his tie and cuffs for better mobility.
Two security guards,
initially there to protect Chen Zhudong,
now held the limp man up like a punching bag for Qin Zhiyan’s wrath.
Qin Zhiyan didn’t utter a word,
treating Chen Zhudong as nothing more than a human sandbag.
How dare you lay a finger on what’s mine?
Who do you think you are, coveting him?
The crowd watched Qin Zhiyan’s brutal assault in stunned silence.
No one dared speak up or intervene.
Finally, the host managed,
"President Qin, if this continues, someone might die."
Qin Zhiyan slowly lowered his hands, glancing at Chen Zhudong, who was barely breathing.
He took out a handkerchief, wiped each finger meticulously,
and tossed it aside before addressing the crowd.
"Tell me, would the Tang family’s young master stoop to stealing a measly million?"
"He’s the Tang family’s young master?!"
"I knew Tang Keyi wouldn’t steal this trash. His family probably has mountains of stuff like this."
Chen Zhudong, now unable to speak, widened his eyes in horror and regret.
"Keep your mouths shut about tonight,"
Qin Zhiyan commanded coldly, and the room fell dead silent.
Tang Keyi stared at Qin Zhiyan a few steps away—
his clothes slightly disheveled yet still exuding elegance—
and felt his heart pounding as if he’d just run a sprint.
Remembering how he’d looked earlier, swinging a broom like a madman,
Tang Keyi cringed.
Why is there such a gap between us?
[Why is Qin Zhiyan so cool even when fighting?]
[Did he just say he believes me?]
[I didn’t even explain properly, and he still trusts me?]
Hearing these thoughts, Qin Zhiyan looked up at Tang Keyi—
his cheeks flushed like sunset clouds, his eyes glistening with unshed tears,
adding a fragile beauty to his face.
More importantly, despite the crowd, Tang Keyi’s gaze was fixed solely on him.
Qin Zhiyan’s heart lurched violently, like a tender sprout abruptly breaking through the soil.
Before he could process the feeling, he schooled his expression back to indifference and said coldly,
"Why are you standing there? Let’s go."
"Oh."
Tang Keyi snapped out of it and followed Qin Zhiyan out.
Once they were gone, the crowd finally regained their voices.
"Holy shit, President Qin is terrifying when he’s angry..."
"Looks like Tang Keyi’s conquest of President Qin isn’t far off."
"That Chen Zhudong actually dared to frame Tang Keyi? Is he insane?"
"There’s definitely more to this story, but with President Qin’s warning, I’m keeping my mouth shut."
"Chen Zhudong really kicked a steel plate. Offending President Qin means his career is over."
In the car, Qin Zhiyan glanced at Tang Keyi, who was staring silently at his own hands.
