MSRBMH Ch10

Seeing him sit down, Shen Le scooted over with a grin. "So? Did my cousin give you a hard time?"

Hardly. They’d barely interacted.

Su Yu scowled. "Your cousin sold me to Ji Yanli."

"Who?!"

"Ji Yanli?!"

Twin exclamations of varying volumes erupted in the private room.

Lin Yanjun eyed him with concern. "Su-ge, I can find you another job tomorrow."

Two bottles of liquor sat on the table, their surfaces glinting under the purple strobe lights. Su Yu grabbed one, popped the cap, and poured himself a full glass, downing it in one go. The bitterness of the alcohol dulled the frustration coiled in his chest.

"Nah. Working under Ji Yanli’s fine for now."

Shen Le’s eyes widened. "You beast! How many times a day?!"

Lin Yanjun’s expression morphed into something indescribable, his gaze inadvertently drifting toward Su Yu’s backside. "Bro… you’ve suffered."

[What the hell are these two talking about? Is this even PG-13?]
[No matter how innocent, they’ll twist it into something filthy.]
[Work! Work a whole day! No lube, no mercy!]

Su Yu choked mid-sip, coughing violently.

"The hell are you implying?! I meant work as in labor!"

Shen Le blinked innocently. "So did I?"

Lin Yanjun dodged an incoming slap. "Me too."

"You’re the one with the dirty mind, Su-ge."

Shen Le squinted, scrutinizing him.

"No wonder you’ve been acting weird. You do have a thing for Ji Yanli, don’t you?"

Sensitive spot struck, Su Yu slammed his glass onto the table. "Who the fuck would crush on him?! I like gentle types like Yanchu, okay? I’m not mentally ill."

Lin Yanjun hummed thoughtfully. "Sure… if you say so."

Arguing with these two was a lost cause. Su Yu inhaled deeply and poured another drink.

Maybe it was the overwhelming events of late—getting disowned, the barrage of bullet comments, the emotional whiplash—but he found himself drinking more than usual.

His tolerance was high, though, leaving no visible flush.

Halfway through, Shen Le summoned two young male models to liven things up. Their high-pitched, cutesy singing made Su Yu’s temples throb.

"I’m stepping out for air."

He stood, clapping Shen Le’s shoulder.

Noticing his unsteady gait, Lin Yanjun reached out. "Need me to come?"

"Nah. Just hitting the restroom."

Su Yu shoved the door open, relief flooding him the moment silence enveloped him.

He slumped onto a barstool and flagged down the bartender. "Milk. Warm."

Gotta sober up for work tomorrow.

The glass arrived swiftly. Su Yu sipped, wiping his lips with the back of his hand.

[Baby! Why are you still drinking?! How can you stomach it at your age?!]
[Go save your hubby! He’s drunk at a business dinner—about to get snatched by some scheming twink!]
[That bastard Su Yan’s trying to force himself on Ji-ge! I’ll chop him into eight pieces!!!!]
[I’m dying here! Baby, hurry to Bocheng Hotel! I’d call you myself if I could!]

The barrage of comments exploded in his mind the moment the milk touched his tongue.

Ji Yanli’s wasted at Bocheng. Su Yan’s planning to take advantage.

Su Yu’s fingers twitched. So what if he gets taken advantage of? Not my problem.

He pushed the empty glass toward the bartender.

Angel Su Yu screamed in his head: But Su Yan’s cunning! If Ji Yanli falls into his hands—

Devil Su Yu smacked Angel aside: Ji Yanli’s no saint either.

Angel Su Yu, tearful: He stood up for you today! How heartless!

Devil Su Yu, smug: Perfect, right? If he sleeps with Su Yan, he won’t compete for Song Yanchu anymore!

Angel Su Yu, wailing: That’s not fair competition! I despise you!

"Enough!"

Su Yu swatted both voices away and stood with a resigned sigh.

Goddamn Ji Yanli. I must owe you from a past life.

He wasn’t drunk—his mind was clear as he hailed a cab.

Bocheng Hotel.

So this was why Ji Yanli hadn’t brought him along. He was meeting the Su family.

"Driver, step on it. I’m catching a cheater."

The driver’s eyes lit up. "Seatbelt on, kid!"

The taxi shot forward like a rocket, arriving in half the usual time.

Su Yu paid and strode into Bocheng’s lavish lobby. The place was massive—a hybrid of hotel and banquet hall. Finding one person here was near impossible.

And he didn’t even have Ji Yanli’s number.

He marched to the front desk. "Excuse me. Is there a guest named Ji Yanli here?"

The receptionist smiled politely. "I can’t disclose guest room numbers, sir."

Maybe I should just leave him to his fate.

Su Yu’s eye twitched. Time for the classic move.

"I’m here to catch my partner cheating."

The receptionist’s smile faltered as she assessed him.

[WIFEY CAME! HE ACTUALLY CAME! I’M CRYING!]
[Ji-ge, your precious chastity is saved!!!]
[LMAO DID HE JUST SAY ‘CATCHING A CHEATER’? IF JI YANLI HEARS THIS, HE’LL ASCEND TO HEAVEN.]
[BABY! ROOM 4003! I’M ABOUT TO BREAK MY PHONE FROM ANXIETY.]

4003.

Su Yu latched onto the only useful intel in the comment spam and bolted for the elevators.

For a split second, he questioned his sanity. Had the bullet comments brainwashed him?

Why was he actually rushing to preserve Ji Yanli’s so-called virtue? What did it matter to him?!

The elevator dinged on the fourth floor. Su Yu scanned the hallway and spotted 4003—flanked by hulking bodyguards.

He recognized one. Su Yan’s lackey.

So it’s really him.

Su Yu marched forward and reached for the door—only for a guard to block him.

"No entry."

Su Yu smiled sweetly. "I’m here for my brother. I’m Su Yu."

The guard remained stone-faced. "The Su family only has one young master."

Low blow.

Rage ignited in Su Yu’s chest. "Screw this."

He reared back and kicked the door open.
