"I like you..."
Tang Keyi forced a smile.
[Like hell I do.]
"Hm."
Qin Zhiyan's response was more of a cold hum than acknowledgment.
"But don't worry, President Qin! I won’t bother you at all. I’ll just be a quiet, well-behaved admirer from afar,"
Keyi assured him, nodding emphatically.
Zhiyan remained silent, though inwardly, he scoffed.
Quiet?
Well-behaved?
You’re neither.
[We’ve talked it out. Can I leave now?]
[I still have a party to crash till dawn!]
"Let’s go."
Zhiyan stood.
"Huh? Go where?"
Keyi blinked up at him, baffled.
"Since I didn’t drink, I’ll take you home."
"Oh, that’s really not necessary—"
[My night’s just starting! No way I’m going back yet.]
"It’s no trouble. Let’s go."
"But I—"
Zhiyan cut him off.
"Didn’t you say you liked me? Shouldn’t you be thrilled I’m offering you a ride?"
Nice try.
You’re not partying tonight.
Keyi’s smile turned rigid.
"I. Am. Delighted."
Outside the private room, the hallway was packed with onlookers—
Qin Yulin, Han Qiuqiu, and the rest of their circle, all waiting with bated breath.
Qiuqiu exhaled in relief when he saw Keyi unharmed.
"Zhiyan, you’re leaving already?"
Yulin asked.
"I’m taking him home,"
Zhiyan replied tersely.
"You’re taking Tang Keyi home?!"
Yulin’s jaw dropped.
The shock rippled through the crowd.
Even Qiuqiu’s eyes widened.
"Keyi, if you’re being coerced, blink twice,"
Qiuqiu hissed.
Keyi’s eyelids fluttered rapidly, nearing a seizure.
"It’s getting late. I’ll head back first. You all have fun."
[I’M BEING FORCED! IT’S NOT EVEN 11 PM! I WANT TO STAY!]
Zhiyan:
No, you don’t.
"Let’s go."
He strode ahead.
"Keyi!"
Qiuqiu writhed in Yulin’s grip.
"Someone call the police! I’m being harassed!"
Yulin tightened his hold.
"Keep it up, Qiuqiu, and I’ll give you a real reason to scream."
Keyi dragged his feet, shooting desperate looks at Qiuqiu until Zhiyan—
noticing his reluctance—yanked him forward by his hoodie, nearly toppling him.
"Wow, Tang Shao’s dream came true! He’s this close to bagging President Qin!"
someone whispered.
"Right? All that pining finally paid off."
Qiuqiu:
Oh, you sweet summer children.
[IS THAT THE NEW RR LIMITED EDITION?! HOW DID HE GET ONE?!]
[It’s even the silver-black trim—classy, sleek, perfect. Guess Zhiyan’s taste isn’t completely trash.]
Keyi’s eyes practically emitted laser beams when he saw the car.
Only ten existed worldwide, reserved for elite clientele.
Money alone couldn’t buy it.
Zhiyan, overhearing his mental fanboying, was mildly baffled.
It’s just a car.
He’d bought it for performance, not prestige.
Keyi’s soul vibrated with envy, but his face remained coolly detached as he slid into the passenger seat.
"Not bad."
[NOT BAD?! IT’S GODTIER!]
[WHY CAN’T IT BE MINE?!]
Zhiyan pressed the ignition.
[Listen to that engine! I’d drag-race this beauty down Mount Akina!]
Keyi’s tone was breezy.
"Decent ride."
[DECENT?! IT’S MAGNIFICENT!]
Zhiyan smirked.
Fine.
Since he loves it so much,
I’ll take the scenic route.
[This isn’t the way to the Tang estate…]
[Is he planning to dump me in some wasteland?!]
Zhiyan: …Does he think I’m a serial killer?
Only when they looped onto the ring road did Keyi relax.
[Oh. He’s just flexing.]
[Damn. It’s working.]
Zhiyan: That’s it. Straight home.
"It’s late. I won’t invite you in,"
Keyi said sweetly, unbuckling.
[It’s early. I just don’t want Grandma seeing you and getting ideas. Leave.]
Zhiyan feigned offense.
"No gratitude for the chauffeur service?"
[Did I ask for a ride?! I was fine partying!]
"Thanks, President Qin. You should rest."
Zhiyan, who’d never planned to enter anyway, nodded.
Keyi bolted out, chirping, "Drive safe!" before slamming the door.
[Finally.]
As Zhiyan pulled away,
Keyi’s unfinished thought—[This car is legendary—]—faded with the distance.
Sighing, Keyi murmured,
"That car is perfection."
From the balcony, Grandma Tang witnessed the entire scene.
Who dropped Keyi off?
And why’s he staring after them like a lovesick fool?
She dialed her butler.
"Lao Liu, check the surveillance. I want to know who drove Keyi home."
Hanging up,
she noticed her burner phone blowing up with notifications.
The "Imperial Capital Elite Gossip Squad" group chat had hundreds of unread messages.
Her jaw hit the floor.
Another call to Lao Liu:
"Never mind. I already know."
She’d feared her grandson was doomed to die alone.
But fate had other plans!
Sure, snagging the Qin family’s heir wouldn’t be easy…
But it doesn't matter.
Keyi, my dear—Grandma’s got your back.
Clutching her phone, Grandma Tang made a vow.
Qin Corporation HQ.
"Tang Matriarch wants to see me?"
Zhiyan looked up from his desk, arching a brow at Cong Qiao.
