Ch 2 : The Ge'er's Escape

With a mere lift of his hand, a document appeared in his grasp.  “Is this what you mean, Village Chief?” He handed the document over. The Village Chief reached out, took it, opened it, and examined it carefully.  “Exactly this.” After reviewing it, he returned the document to the man and turned to address the villagers, clarifying the man's identity.  “Ling Cang, from the capital. His family has been in trade for generations.” The Clan Leader nodded upon hearing this.  “If that's the case, then the young man may reside temporarily in Yunxi Village.” “Thank you very much then,”  Divine Emperor Ling Cang said with a smile, cupping his hands in thanks. His smile was like a warm spring breeze, dazzling everyone present. “Might there be any uninhabited houses in the village? I would like to purchase one,”  Ling Cang asked with a smile. Before entering the mortal realm, he had observed this area; the scenery was excellent and it seemed a good place for living and...

Chapter 101 The Surprise Prepared for Jinsui

Hearing Qin Chengyu's words—challenging his authority and questioning his decisions—

Qin Zhuo's expression instinctively turned stern.

But he quickly softened his demeanor and said gently:

"Grandfather knows I neglected you in the past, causing you much hardship. So now, I want to give you everything that should have been yours—to show everyone that Qin Zhuo has an outstanding Alpha grandson."

"I’d rather people see that I earned the position of Qin Group’s leader through my own ability, not because of some innate Alpha status that fell from the sky. Do you understand, Grandfather?"

Qin Zhuo pondered for a moment before finally agreeing:

"Very well. Since you insist, I’ll respect your wishes. Your Alpha identity will remain confidential for now."

"Thank you, Grandfather."

A shadow flickered in Qin Chengyu’s eyes.

This was a surprise he had prepared for Jinsui—

how could it be revealed so soon?

### Last August’s Gossip vs. This August’s Drama ###

Last August, the elite circles of the capital had three major scandals:

1. Chu Heting publicly carried a waiter out of Nian Jinsui’s birthday banquet.

2. Nian Jinsui, heartbroken, allegedly attempted suicide by jumping off a building.

3. Qin Chengyu, the "penniless ward" of the Nian family, was quietly taken in.

But this August? Even juicier.

First,

the Nian family announced that Nian Yixin had originally been pregnant with twins,

but one child was lost due to unforeseen circumstances.

 Now, that child

—Ning Liang’an—

had been found and would officially be recognized as the Nian family’s Second Young Master.

Many met this news with skepticism. After all, no one had ever heard of a 'lost twin' before.

Some even whispered that this so-called

Second Young Master was actually the very waiter Chu Heting had carried away that night!

How could twins look so different?

If the twin story was a lie, and the Nian family only had one true heir,

then Ning Liang’an was likely the real one.

So… what did that make the original Nian Jinsui?

But of course, once the Nian family made their announcement, it was set in stone.

No matter how much people doubted, they only dared to gossip in private.

The real spectacle?

The love triangle between the Nian brothers and Chu Heting.

Would there be even more twists?

Just when everyone thought this was the year’s biggest bombshell,

the capital was rocked by another shocker:

The Qin Group’s leadership position, long assumed to be Qin Chenglu’s,

had instead been handed to Qin Chengyu—the forgotten, invisible third son.

Dinner at the Nian Family

Ning Liang’an had already been welcomed into the Nian household.

At the dinner table, Lin Shuquan, Nian Yixin, Nian Jinsui, and Ning Liang’an were enjoying a warm family meal.

"Dad, Liang’an and I look nothing alike. Who’s going to believe we’re twins?"

Nian Jinsui hadn’t expected Nian Yixin to spin a tale so different from the novel’s original plot.

But Nian Yixin was pleased with his decision:

"I birthed you both—what I say goes. Who dares question it?"

Lin Shuquan agreed:

"Jinsui, this is our family matter. Outsiders can gossip all they want, but as long as we’re happy, that’s what matters."

"I just feel a bit… unfair to Liang’an."

Nian Jinsui hesitated. After all, he was the impostor,

still occupying the position of  Nian Young Master.

Meanwhile, Ning Liang’an—the true heir—had to share the spotlight.

(Not counting the baby currently in Nian Yixin’s belly, of course.)

Ning Liang’an quickly reassured him:

"Jinsui, don’t think like that. I grew up an orphan—I never dreamed I’d one day sit at a table with my family. But what makes me happiest is that you’re my family too. I’ve always wanted a sibling to rely on. Now that you’re my older brother, I’m so happy I could cry."

His eyes glistened as he looked around the table.

"This… this is the best outcome I could have ever hoped for."

His words moved Nian Jinsui deeply.

Ning Liang’an was truly an angel.

After all his suffering, he deserved nothing but happiness from now on.

"Thank you, Liang’an."

Nian Jinsui’s gratitude was genuine.

After spending so much time with Lin Shuquan and Nian Yixin, he’d grown attached.

Deep down, he wanted to keep this family.

So he was grateful Ning Liang’an was willing to accept him.

"Pregnancy makes me emotional—don’t make me cry,"

Nian Yixin joked, dabbing at dry eyes.

"Let’s talk about something else,"

Lin Shuquan smoothly redirected.

"Did you know Chengyu’s hidden identity in the investment world was just revealed by the Qin Group? To achieve so much at his age—remarkable."

"Indeed,"

Nian Yixin nodded.

"When we spoke before, I only sensed his talent in business. I never imagined he’d already accomplished so much. Jinsui, did you know about this?"

Nian Jinsui thought to himself:

Of course I knew how amazing Qin Chengyu was.

And I know he’ll become even more incredible—

if he doesn’t kill himself, he’ll be unstoppable!

Right now, he felt like a proud parent whose hidden gem had finally been recognized.

But he couldn’t show it.

"I knew he did some online investing, but I never asked for details."

Nian Yixin didn’t hold back his praise:

"Chengyu is the perfect example of ‘silent but deadly.’ Everyone underestimated him before—now he’s made them eat their words."
