Nian Jinsui raised his hand and called out, “Xiao Liu, bring my wheelchair!”
Xiao Liu quickly retrieved a folding wheelchair from the trunk and placed it in front of Nian Jinsui.
Nian Jinsui sat in the electric wheelchair and drove it forward, calling back, “What are you standing around for? Start running! Even sitting in a wheelchair, I can outrun you!”
Qin Chengyu: ...
After their evening workout, Qin Chengyu, exhausted, was about to head to his room for a shower when Nian Jinsui stopped him.
“You have to relax your muscles after working out,” Nian Jinsui said, holding a massage gun. “Lie down on the yoga mat, and I’ll help you loosen up.”
Lie down?
Qin Chengyu hesitated. “Jinsui, I can handle it myself.”
“No way!” Nian Jinsui firmly disagreed. “If you do it yourself, you’ll likely go too easy because of the pain, which means your muscles won’t fully relax. Plus, you don’t know the right pressure or how long to do it. Listen to your trainer—lie down!”
Seeing Nian Jinsui’s determined attitude, Qin Chengyu couldn’t refuse. Reluctantly, he lay face down on the yoga mat.
“If it hurts, endure it.”
From behind, Nian Jinsui’s words, seemingly innocent, carried a connotation that made Qin Chengyu tense up, his mind flashing to an unspeakable scenario.
In that fleeting thought, however, their roles were reversed.
Later that evening, after supervising Qin Chengyu’s workout, Nian Jinsui was about to head back to his room for a shower and sleep when Qin Chengyu stopped him.
“Jinsui, your heat period should be coming up in the next couple of days,” Qin Chengyu said, glancing at the calendar on his phone. “Why not take a suppressant shot now?”
Nian Jinsui checked the date and realized he hadn’t noticed how close it was. Qin Chengyu, however, remembered clearly.
“I almost forgot. Good thing you remembered. You’re right—I should take a shot now to avoid being caught off guard.”
Qin Chengyu lowered his gaze. He couldn’t forget the last time Nian Jinsui’s heat came on unexpectedly and had no intention of letting it happen again.
“I’ll give you the shot,” he offered.
“No need, I’ll do it after my shower.”
“I’ll come to your room after I shower,” Qin Chengyu added after a pause. “Didn’t you say it hurts to inject into your stomach? If we do it in your arm, it’ll be hard for you to handle on your own.”
Nian Jinsui thought about it and agreed. In his previous life, he’d always injected suppressants into his abdomen for convenience, but his current Omega body couldn’t compare to his previous Alpha physique. Last time, the abdominal injection was quite painful; it’d be better to do it in his arm from now on.
Since Qin Chengyu was offering so kindly, there was no reason to refuse.
“Alright, come over after you’re done,” Nian Jinsui said.
Having done it once before, Qin Chengyu didn’t need instructions this time. He deftly disinfected the area, administered the injection, and pressed a cotton swab to the site to finish.
“You’re practically a healthcare professional now,” Nian Jinsui thought to himself, impressed. As expected of the super-genius antagonist—he excelled at everything.
Qin Chengyu didn’t reply. Only he knew how many tutorials and precautions he’d studied online. Though it was a simple task, when it came to Nian Jinsui, he always wanted to be extra meticulous.
If it could spare Nian Jinsui any pain, it was worth it.
Under the intense training plan Nian Jinsui had devised, Qin Chengyu’s injury assessment score reached the passing line by mid-month.
Concerned about overworking Qin Chengyu, Nian Jinsui later reduced the exercise load. Even so, by the end of the month, the injury score had soared to 90 points.
It was clear Qin Chengyu had been pushed to his limits.
Notably, all 90 points came from physical strain, with none attributed to psychological harm.
This made Nian Jinsui question the system’s previous assessments.
“Xilu, this month my psychological harm to Qin Chengyu was 0 points. How did I rack up several dozen points last month? I’ve always treated him the same. How exactly did I harm him?”
As always, Xilu’s response was cold and unyielding:
[System scores are not explained or subject to challenge.]
Nian Jinsui scoffed. The autocratic Xilu must have made a mistake but didn’t want to admit it.
Soon, it was the anniversary celebration at Imperial Capital Business Academy.
Most students stayed on campus for dinner to attend the evening gala, including Nian Jinsui and his group.
Unlike others’ enthusiasm, Nian Jinsui was eager to avoid the gala.
Unfortunately, that morning, he received a system notification requiring his attendance at the event.
Other than that, no further tasks were assigned. The system simply said additional instructions would be provided later.
This left Nian Jinsui uneasy. Based on the original novel’s plot, he had a heavy responsibility.
In the original story, Chu Hejun enrolled at Imperial Capital Business Academy and, by constantly protecting Ning Liang’an, became Nian Jinsui’s adversary. This led Nian Jinsui to resent both Chu Hejun and Ning Liang’an.
At this anniversary event, Nian Jinsui orchestrated a scheme to deal with them both. He had someone lure Ning Liang’an into helping move items and then locked him in a storage room in the warehouse. Meanwhile, another accomplice leaked the news to Chu Hejun, luring him into the trap. The plan was to lock both of them inside.
If Chu Hejun didn’t show up, his performance at the gala would fail, causing a major incident and ruining Ning Liang’an’s reputation. Not only would he forfeit his pay, but he’d also face disciplinary action.
Despite Nian Jinsui’s elaborate plans, the scheme ultimately failed.
Though Ning Liang’an and Chu Hejun were successfully trapped, the performance went off without a hitch.
Just as the show was about to begin, Chu Heting, attending as a distinguished alumnus, stepped onto the stage and sat at the piano.
While Chu Heting’s piano skills weren’t as professional as Chu Hejun’s, they were more than adequate for the gala.
