When Huai Xu saw that only he and Jing Zheng xuan were left in the dorm,
he felt this was a perfect opportunity.
He had been worrying about finding a chance to talk to his childhood friend,
and now that the others had all gone out, it seemed like a good moment.
He sat at his desk, thinking about how to approach the conversation.
A lot of times, speaking is also a skill, especially when you want to get important information from someone else.
While thinking, the bathroom door opened slightly,
and Jing Zheng xuan cleared his throat, about to say something.
But when his eyes glanced down, he saw a chair placed by the door,
with his clothes neatly arranged on it—underwear, shorts, and a T-shirt, in the order he would usually wear them.
It was arranged exactly as he always dressed.
Jing Zheng xuan raised an eyebrow and took the clothes inside.
Huai Xu proudly lifted his chin.
Jing Zheng xuan always forgot things, but luckily Huai Xu was there;
otherwise, he'd have come out with nothing on.
The scene...
Tsk!
Huai Xu dared not think about it anymore and got up to move the chair back to its original position.
Jing Zheng xuan, having finished drying his hair, skillfully climbed onto Huai Xu’s bed.
Huai Xu quickly stopped him, patting the other chair in front of him,
“Why are you getting on my bed? Sit here.”
Jing Zheng xuan stopped, his foot on the ladder, frowning slightly, his voice calm,
“I’m feeling dizzy.”
Huai Xu walked over with concern, asking,
“Dizzy again? Don’t you want to go to the hospital?”
Jing Zheng xuan took Huai Xu’s hand and climbed onto the bed, saying,
“I’ll feel better if I lie down, just stay with me.”
Huai Xu liked cleanliness but wasn’t very diligent, so he never got on the bed during the day.
On one hand, it was because the clothes he wore coming back from outside carried bacteria;
on the other, he didn’t want to make the bed twice a day.
It was especially troublesome to make the bed on the upper bunk!
But since his childhood friend wasn’t feeling well,
and they had both showered and changed into clean clothes,
Huai Xu had to agree.
He climbed onto the bed with his friend.
The bed in the dorm was narrow, and the two of them had to lie on their sides,
with Jing Zheng xuan needing to bend his legs so they wouldn’t hang off the edge of the bed.
Because they were lying on their sides, they inevitably made eye contact.
Huai Xu’s eyes were round and large, with long, curly lashes.
When he blinked, he looked like a lively little deer, and every time Jing Zheng xuan got caught in that gaze.
After looking for a while, he couldn’t stand it anymore.
He pulled Huai Xu into his arms and buried his head into the crook of his neck.
Huai Xu rolled his eyes but didn’t push him away.
He was unusually tolerant of a sick person, and besides, his childhood friend was always like this, so he had gotten used to it.
“Still dizzy?” he asked.
“...Yeah, let me hug you for a while,”
Jing Zheng xuan replied after a pause, his voice muffled, as if he really was feeling unwell.
Huai Xu patted him but questioned,
“Does hugging me help when you’re unwell?”
“It really helps,”
Jing Zheng xuan pressed closer, rubbing his face against Huai Xu’s neck, speaking in a low voice.
“Bullshit, I’m not medicine,”
Huai Xu laughed, scratching his head,
“Stop it.”
But Jing Zheng xuan kept going, continuously rubbing his hair against Huai Xu’s neck.
“You’re better than any medicine.”
“Stop!” Huai Xu laughed so hard he almost cried.
Jing Zheng xuan finally stopped and wiped the tears from Huai Xu’s eyes,
then pulled him into a hug, taking a deep breath.
The scent of the same body wash was in the air, the peach fragrance,
which smelled even better on Huai Xu than on anyone else, intoxicatingly sweet.
Huai Xu liked the peach scent, but Jing Zhengn xuan only liked the peach scent on Huai Xu.
They lay quietly for a while.
Huai Xu twirled a sandalwood bead bracelet, then asked,
“Still dizzy?”
“...”
Jing Zheng xuan let out a faint sigh, rubbing against Huai Xu’s neck again,
“Mm.”
This needed intervention, Huai Xu thought.
If he kept feeling dizzy, it could be serious.
“There’s an acupoint that can help with dizziness. Let me press it for you,”
Huai Xu said, preparing to get up.
Jing Zheng xuan held onto Huai Xu tightly and refused to let go.
“No need.”
He buried his head deeper, his voice muffled as though coming through thick plastic.
Huai Xu frowned and gave him an angry look.
“Why are you so stubborn?”
Jing Zheng xuan thought for a moment, realizing there was no way out.
He was stubborn, but Huai Xu was equally stubborn, or he wouldn’t have insisted on staying in the dorm.
He let go of Huai Xu and softened his tone.
“I didn’t want to make you tired.”
“Just pressing an acupoint, it’s not that tiring.”
Huai Xu helped Jing Zheng xuan move his legs apart, sitting between them.
He then gently moved his hands from Jing Zheng xuan’s ears to the top of his head, massaging the Baihui acupoint.
“Does it hurt?”
Huai Xu asked as he pressed.
Acupoints were naturally painful when blocked, but Jing Zheng xuan didn’t feel anything.
Still, he cooperated and murmured, “Mm.”
“Hold on, it’ll be better soon,”
Huai Xu said with satisfaction.
It was a special happiness for Huai Xu to help someone with the knowledge he had learned,
especially when it was his childhood friend.
“Mm.”
Jing Zheng xuan responded, his gaze on Huai Xu’s slender frame,
his white T-shirt gently swaying with his movements.
A faint peach fragrance floated into his nose.
It was still the peach scent.
Jing Zheng xuan closed his eyes, thinking that if he kept looking,
he would have to take another shower.
Huai Xu was still young, only 19 like him, but Huai Xu had clearly not matured yet,
as he was focused solely on studying.
Jing Zheng xuan didn’t want to scare Huai Xu,
and he also feared the outcome might be something he couldn’t accept, so he kept holding back.
After about five minutes of massaging, Huai Xu stopped, kneeling in front of Jing Zheng xuan, asking,
“How’s it? Feel better?”
Jing Zheng xuan opened his eyes and stared deeply into Huai Xu’s bright, clear gaze, taking a deep breath,
“It’s better.”
“Really better?”
“Really better.”
Huai Xu didn’t expect it to work so well. He relaxed and took Jing Zheng xuan’s hand, speaking seriously,
“Jing Zheng xuan, I need to ask you something, and you have to answer honestly.”
Jing Zheng xuan knew he couldn’t avoid it, so he said,
“Ask.”
Huai Xu fixed his gaze on his childhood friend’s dark brown eyes.
“What happened with your sprained ankle?”
Jing Zheng xuan’s pupils flickered slightly, and he answered,
“Predicting the future.”
Huai Xu: “...”
“So you didn’t get it right either? Tell me the truth,”
Huai Xu said, his tone turning stern.
Jing Zheng xuan held Huai Xu’s hand and calmly explained,
“I deduced it from experience.”
Huai Xu furrowed his brows. “?”
Jing Zheng xuan reminded him,
“Every time I exercise, I get injured…”
“So you predicted you’d sprain your ankle before you played basketball?”
Huai Xu didn’t understand.
“Mm, it’s common to sprain an ankle on the basketball court,”
Jing Zheng xuan nodded.
Huai Xu: “...”
It seemed a bit far-fetched, but it was convincing…
Jing Zheng xuan really did get injured every time he exercised,
whether it was a knock or a sprain.
His explanation was airtight.
Huai Xu thought for a moment before asking another question,
“What about the cold bench?”
Jing Zheng xuan: “...”
After a long pause, Jing Zheng xuan sighed,
“The cold bench part is true.”
“Cold bench for MVP? You really think I don’t know anything about basketball?”
Huai Xu crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow.
“...”
Jing Zheng xuan stared at Huai Xu’s bright eyes, thought for a moment, then said,
“I really was on the cold bench at first, but later became a regular starter.”
“Well, that was a quick promotion,”
Huai Xu said sarcastically.
Jing Zhengxuan calmly stated, “I learn fast.”
Huai Xu: “...”
At this point, Huai Xu couldn’t argue.
His childhood friend was indeed smart, and learning came effortlessly to him.
He could easily master things others struggled to memorize.
This was especially true in sports—no matter the game, Jing Zheng xuan seemed like a born champion.
Wait, the topic had gone off-track again, so Huai Xu steered it back.
He asked, “Why didn’t you tell me you were promoted?”
Jing Zhengxuan grabbed Huai Xu’s hand and rubbed it in his palm,
“I didn’t want you to worry.”
“You didn’t want me to worry?”
“Mm,”
Jing Zheng xuan continued rubbing Huai Xu’s hand,
“You’d definitely worry when I’m training.”
Huai Xu: “...”
“I didn’t want to distract you,” Jing Zheng xuan added.
Huai Xu looked down at their intertwined hands, staying silent for a moment.
This reasoning was also valid.
Jing Zheng xuan always got injured when he exercised,
and Huai Xu couldn’t stop him from working out, so he could only worry in his heart.
“Then be careful next time,”
Huai Xu said with a serious tone,
“If you get hurt less, I won’t have to worry so much.”
“Okay,” Jing Zheng xuan replied seriously.
“Next time, you have to tell me everything. Don’t hide anything from me,”
Huai Xu added.
“Mm.” Jing Zheng xuan nodded.
After their conversation, Huai Xu felt relieved, and since it was time to eat,
they went to Jing Zheng xuan’s place.
Though Jing Zheng xuan was a skilled cook,
he still hired a professional cook to handle things when he couldn’t keep up with everything.
The meals were always perfect to meet Huai Xu’s picky standards.
Before their talk, Jing Zheng xuan had already planned the menu for the night.
When they arrived, the cook had just left, and the dishes were still steaming on the table.
Since it wasn’t the weekend, after dinner, Jing Zheng xuan sent Huai Xu back to the dorm,
and the chapter was finally over.
The next evening, around 8 PM, Huai Xu was practicing music with the members in the club room when he received a message from his childhood friend.

【Jing Zhengxuan】: I really have been careful.
Huai Xu looked at the picture of the wound and raised an eyebrow, his heart racing.
How did he get hurt again!?
