Nian Jin Sui initially wanted to refuse Ye Kang’s invitation.
Staying at home to play video games and build LEGO with Qin Cheng Yu was much more comfortable.
Under his "guidance"—no, under his training—Qin Cheng Yu had finally stopped defeating him so quickly, making his gaming experience steadily more enjoyable.
Why bother going out to deal with Ye Kang’s fake friendliness?
Moreover, today was the last day of the “delicate and weak” punishment.
At home, if anything happened, Qin Cheng Yu was always on call.
But if something went wrong outside, who would help him?
And, of course, there was the important concern of Ye Kang potentially tricking him out of money again.
But all of these reasons were outweighed by a single phrase from Ye Kang:
I’ll pay.
Ye Kang treating? Was the sun rising in the west? Such an opportunity couldn’t be missed.
Throwing all his previous considerations aside,
Nian Jin Sui decided it wouldn’t hurt to get some fresh air after being cooped up at home for so long.
As for the “delicate and weak” punishment, bringing Qin Cheng Yu along would solve that issue—
and it’d also make Ye Kang spend more money.
That evening, Nian Jin Sui and Qin Cheng Yu arrived at a private club’s suite as planned.
Ye Kang had already arrived and was waiting for them.
The moment Ye Kang saw Qin Cheng Yu, his smiling expression froze.
Internally, he grumbled,
Why does Nian Jin Sui bring this Qin Cheng Yu everywhere now?
The service fees here aren’t cheap—does this mean I’ll have to pay for three people?
Ye Kang had his reasons for treating today.
With the new semester approaching, Ye Kang had visited the luxury clothing store he and Nian Jin Sui often frequented.
Confidently, he picked out several new outfits and, as usual, told the staff to charge it to Nian Jin Sui’s account.
But then came the embarrassment.
The staff, with a smile that was three parts apologetic and seven parts mocking, informed him that they’d received instructions to only accept in-person purchases for Nian Jin Sui’s account.
Ye Kang was caught in an awkward position—too embarrassed to leave without buying and too pained to pay with his own card.
For the sake of saving face, he reluctantly used his own money to complete the purchase.
Afterward, Ye Kang deduced that this change must have been caused by that day at the Imperial Building when Nian Jin Sui saw the bill.
Given how upset Nian Jin Sui had been after the birthday party incident
locking himself at home and even ending up in the hospital after a suicide attempt
it made sense he would be angry.
This is all Ning Liang An’s fault,
Ye Kang thought bitterly.
If he hadn’t shown the bill to Nian Jin Sui, none of this would’ve happened.
Still, Ye Kang wasn’t worried.
He had known Nian Jin Sui for years and understood his personality well.
With some flattery and by praising the supposed match between Nian Jin Sui and Chu He Ting,
he could easily win Nian Jin Sui over again.
Once Nian Jin Sui was in a good mood, he’d willingly act as Ye Kang’s financial backer.
Though others saw Ye Kang as dependent on Nian Jin Sui, he had his ways of manipulating him.
Today’s treat was simply a step in his plan—a way to bait Nian Jin Sui back.
Who knows?
Ye Kang thought.
If I make him happy, he might end up footing the bill himself.
With that thought, Ye Kang quickly adjusted his expression and greeted them enthusiastically.
“Nian Shao, let’s relax and have a good time today. This club is new, but I’ve tried it recently. Don’t worry—it won’t disappoint!”
Nian Jin Sui nodded.
“I brought Qin Cheng Yu along. You don’t mind, do you?”
“Of course not,”
Ye Kang replied, with a hint of sarcasm.
“Second Young Master Qin probably hasn’t been to a place like this before. Consider it a new experience for him.”
Nian Jin Sui immediately retorted,
“Even if he hasn’t, that’s fine. If he enjoys the massage this time, we’ll just come regularly in the future.”
Ye Kang detected the protective tone in Nian Jin Sui’s voice and felt a growing sense of insecurity.
He shot a hostile glance at Qin Cheng Yu, realizing the latter might be edging him out of his position.
This Qin Cheng Yu, a nobody in the Qin family, silent as a rock most of the time—
how did he manage to cling to Nian Jin Sui?
Qin Cheng Yu noticed Ye Kang’s hostility and felt disgusted.
Does he think everyone’s like him, eager to be someone’s lapdog?
…Lapdog?
Qin Cheng Yu suddenly recalled Nian Jin Sui’s words from a few days ago:
“From now on, you’re my little dog.”
His brows furrowed. Why was he thinking about that now?
The three of them changed into the loose uniforms provided by the club and reclined on lounge chairs, enjoying foot massages.
The club’s masseuses were highly skilled, with the perfect balance of pressure.
Nian Jin Sui felt completely relaxed, though he could only have one foot massaged due to his injury.
He turned to glance at Qin Cheng Yu and Ye Kang, finding the scene amusing.
There’s the cliché of stepmothers having tea parties.
This? This is the “three villains getting foot massages” meeting.
Amused, he snapped a few photos and sent them to his family group chat, sharing his leisurely life with his two fathers.
Soon, Nian Yi Xin replied with several messages asking where he was and sent a photo of himself drinking coffee with Nian Jin Sui’s other father, Lin Shu Quan.
It was breakfast time in the U.S.
Nian Jin Sui had created the family group chat when Nian Yi Xin went abroad, realizing that his contact with both fathers was sparse.
In the past, Nian Yi Xin would occasionally ask if he’d be home for dinner, but Nian Jin Sui rarely replied.
His conversations with Lin Shu Quan were even shorter—just a record of large money transfers.
This had left Nian Jin Sui feeling melancholic.
After losing both fathers in his past life, he often missed them,
even sharing life updates in their old group chat as if they were still there.
It was a one-sided act.
In his second life, he was lucky to have two fathers again.
Nian Jin Sui decided that even if the truth about his identity as the fake heir came out and he was cast out, he’d cherish the time he had with them now.
Thus, he’d created the “Loving Family” group chat, sharing photos and messages with his two fathers.
Seeing Nian Yi Xin’s “Good Morning” emoji, Nian Jin Sui couldn’t help but smile.
Parents really are the same everywhere—they love sending “Good Morning” messages.
A moment later, Lin Shu Quan sent a large money transfer, expressing his love in his own unique way.
