Chapter 14: Personally Ruining the Protagonist Seme’s Benefits

Nian Jinsui suddenly had a flash of inspiration, immediately widened his eyes in disbelief, grabbed his head with both hands, as if he had been dealt a huge blow.

He didn’t expect that the “Ke Yun Going Crazy” meme he had saved earlier would actually come in handy here.

Just act it out, and it’ll be fine!

"Impossible, I don’t believe it! Brother Ting, you must have been bewitched by this waiter! What part of him is better than me? He’s not worthy of you at all!"

Nian Jinsui’s performance in this scene shocked everyone present.

Uh, why does this Nian Jinsui feel so crazy…

Then again, normal people wouldn’t go jumping off buildings…

Ning Liang'an didn’t want to stay here for even half a second longer. Out of professional ethics, he still politely said,

“I’m sorry, gentlemen, I need to go down and tidy up. Someone else will be here to assist you shortly.”

After finishing his words, Ning Liang'an turned and left immediately.

“He’s better than you in every way!”

After coldly throwing out that sentence, Chu Heting anxiously chased after him.

Nian Jinsui didn’t forget to stretch out his Erlang hand* exasperatedly shouting his final line.

“Brother Ting, you’ll definitely regret this! Only I am worthy of you!”

Ye Kang was very satisfied with how things were developing.

His joy diluted much of the heartache from today’s big spending, but he managed to control his expression well and said indignantly:

“Young Master Nian, how could that Ning Liang'an possibly compare to you? His intentions are obvious—doesn’t he just want to rise to the top and become a phoenix? I saw through him right away. I really don’t know what kind of charm spell he’s cast on Young Master Chu. Young Master Nian, everyone in the circle knows you and Young Master Chu are a perfect match. You must win him back! I fully support you!”

“Mm-hmm, you’re right…”

Nian Jinsui didn’t really listen, casually responding as he secretly spoke to the system.

“Xi Lü, how did I do? Was that good enough?”

[Host, please wait. The system is currently scoring.]

Xi Lü’s unhurried mechanical voice responded.

“I’m telling you, my acting skills come straight from Aunt Qiong Yao*’s school! This is the kind of performance that went viral, moved countless moms to tears, and became an internet sensation. If it’s not 100 points, I’m not accepting it.”

[Host’s score for this task is 70 points.]

Nian Jinsui protested, “I acted so well, and it’s only 70 points? How is that possible? Where did those 30 points go?”

[The host’s performance was overly exaggerated, deducting 10 points. The host did not follow the prompt to use soup, deducting 20 points.]

“I threw sweet soup at Ning Liang'an—that’s still soup! What’s the difference? The point was to anger Chu Heting, wasn’t it?” Nian Jinsui argued indignantly.

[In the original plot, Nian Jinsui was supposed to throw hot soup at Ning Liang'an, causing him to get scalded. This led to Chu Heting carefully taking care of him every day, personally applying medicine to Ning Liang'an’s injuries, and the two growing closer in their relationship.]

Nian Jinsui internally cursed, Crap.

He suddenly remembered that plotline.

He had enjoyed it so much at the time.

In that scene, Chu Heting, worried that Ning Liang'an wouldn’t take proper care of himself, insisted on going home with him every night, half-forcing himself into Ning Liang'an’s life to personally help him undress and apply medicine.

It had even coincided with Ning Liang'an’s...heat period.

Thinking about it now, he really had ruined things. Those 20 points weren’t deducted unfairly at all.

For a moment, Nian Jinsui felt a little sorry for Chu Heting. He really hadn’t meant to rob him of such a benefit.

“So, I won’t need to face punishment with a score of 70, right?”

Nian Jinsui asked cautiously, trying to confirm.

[No need.]

"By the way, I forgot to ask, how many points do I need to avoid punishment?"

[60 points is passing and counts as meeting the standard.]

Nian Jinsui: !!!

“60 points is enough? Then getting 70 points was such a waste! If I’d known earlier, I would’ve performed a bit worse, gotten 60 points, and attracted less hostility.”

Nian Jinsui suddenly felt the path ahead was bright. Such an important question—he should’ve asked it long ago!

[70 points and 60 points aren’t much different. Please note, host, the system scoring is unpredictable, so don’t be too clever for your own good.]

“Don’t worry, Xi Lü. I’ll be careful,”

Nian Jinsui said, feeling great.

Ye Kang noticed Nian Jinsui seemed lost in thought, unsure what he was thinking, and reminded him,

“Young Master Nian, let’s not think about those bothersome things anymore. Let’s eat first.”

Nian Jinsui came back to his senses and glanced at the table full of dishes, feeling no appetite. After reciting so many nauseatingly dramatic lines, he had lost all desire to eat.

Fortunately, he didn’t have to pay for the meal himself, so he didn’t feel bad about not eating.

“Qin Chengyu, I don’t want to eat anymore. Let’s leave,”

Nian Jinsui said, looking toward Qin Chengyu. Qin Chengyu, without much reaction, still remembered to take out some medicine from his pocket.

“Young Master Nian, take your medicine first.”

“You even brought this? How thoughtful of you,”

Nian Jinsui said, surprised.

“It was Young Master Nian’s father who told me to bring it,”

Qin Chengyu replied. Nian Jinsui nodded, taking the medicine, thinking to himself that it made sense.

With Qin Chengyu’s usual indifferent personality, he wouldn’t care enough to remember such details.

Ye Kang looked at the full table of dishes with some reluctance. After all, he had paid real money for it.

“Young Master Nian, but I’m not full yet.”

“It’s fine, take your time. We’re leaving first,”

Nian Jinsui said, maneuvering his wheelchair to leave, with Qin Chengyu following.

“Let’s have another meal together next time, Young Master Nian,”

Ye Kang said as he watched Nian Jinsui and Qin Chengyu leave the private room.

The smile on Ye Kang’s face gradually faded as they left.

Taking out his phone, Ye Kang snapped a picture of the table full of dishes and posted it on his social media:

“As expected, the food at the Imperial Capital Tower suits my taste the most. Just a few days after my last visit, here I am again. It was great to dine with Young Master Chu and Young Master Nian!”

Of course, Ye Kang made sure to block Nian Jinsui from seeing the post.

While passing another private room, Nian Jinsui suddenly stopped, his eyes lighting up as he quickly moved closer to press his ear against the wall.

The door to the private room was half-open, and he could hear two familiar voices inside.

“Chu Heting, don’t touch me!”

“Ning Liang'an, I just wanted to drape my coat over you. Do you think I’m the type of person who would force myself on you?”

Chu Heting’s voice sounded hurt.

After a brief silence, Ning Liang'an’s slightly apologetic voice followed,

“Young Master Chu, that’s not what I meant… Thank you for the coat. I’ll wash it and return it to you later.”

Nian Jinsui silently snorted.

Of course, they should thank me for throwing that soup. If not for me, where would Chu Heting get such a perfect chance to pursue his ‘wife’?

Qin Chengyu looked at Nian Jinsui with a hint of exasperation. He couldn’t understand why Nian Jinsui, clearly irritated by what he was hearing, still insisted on eavesdropping and torturing himself.
