"I heard that Ji Yanli was fighting with your brother Su Yan for a bracelet at the auction. It was a really beautiful bracelet, wasn't it?"
People of influence can spread far and wide with just a little effort.
This was a newly opened bar, a great place Shen Le had just found, saying he wanted to bring people to experience it.
On its opening day, he couldn't wait to drag Lin Yanjun and Su Yu here.
Having just left the company, Su Yu was a little tired, leaning back on the leather sofa with his eyes closed.
Hearing Shen Le's question, his eyebrows twitched slightly, and his eyelids opened slightly.
"Who told me that?"
The bracelet was currently hanging steadily on his wrist, hidden by his shirt sleeve.
Shen Le raised an eyebrow:
"With my wide network of connections, isn't this only natural? Tell me quickly, what kind of bracelet is so amazing that your brother even fought over it?"
He hadn't expected Su Yan to raise his paddle.
Didn't he like Ji Yanli? Why was he competing with him for something?
“How would I know? I’m not a mind reader.”
Su Yu rubbed his temples, then reached for his cocktail.
The beautiful orange-red liquid in the glass was dotted with orange slices, and tasted sweet and sour.
A few beads from the rather large beaded bracelet on his wrist slipped out, revealing a few strands.
Shen Le, engrossed in his drink, didn’t notice.
But Lin Yanjun immediately spotted the beads,
which gleamed with a warm luster.
“Brother Su, what happened at the auction?”
The question was abrupt, and Shen Le was also puzzled.
“Yanzi, why are you asking this? Are you curious?”
He then muttered to himself,
“That doesn’t make sense. If you were really curious, you would have gone yourself. You never participate in these kinds of events, so why would you care about this?”
He was oblivious to the deeper meaning.
Su Yu keenly sensed Lin Yanjun’s gaze, and his thoughts drifted back to that night in the car, the whispered words in his ear, and his face flushed instantly.
Almost reflexively, he hid his hands behind his back, trying to cover it up.
"Nothing special, just an ordinary and boring auction."
"Is that so..."
Lin Yanjun narrowed his eyes, scanning the face of the person in front of him.
"Brother Su, what's going on between you and Ji Yanli? You two have been inseparable lately, you've almost forgotten about us."
Lin Yanjun's words reminded Shen Le, who also began to complain:
"Oh right, I had forgotten if you hadn't mentioned it. Didn't you say you hated him, that you were his mortal enemy? Mortal enemies are always extremely hostile when they meet, but I haven't seen you two being hostile."
He wasn't afraid of anything, except for a straight man's sudden inspiration.
"Oh right, not only are you not hostile, I often see you blushing."
Su Yu quickly denied, "I'm just angry."
Shen Le said, "Oh,"
drawing out the last syllable: "Is that so..."
Su Yu couldn't take it anymore: "That's enough, if you say any more I'm going home."
Seeing that the person was about to lose their temper, Lin Yanjun and Shen Le were quick to understand and both shut up, but they ordered a few more different cocktails from the bar.
They said they would try a different one each.
The drinks were quickly served, a vibrant array of colors, neatly arranged like a rainbow.
Shen Le casually picked up a glass, the blue liquid swirling inside.
"Come on, Su-ge, let's have a drink. We haven't had a proper rest lately. Anyway, you're off tomorrow, let's have some fun tonight!"
Su Yu casually gestured to Shen Le with the half-finished drink he'd just had, then took a sip. Lin Yanjun also casually picked up a glass and drank.
Shen Le, seeing this, insisted that he'd stolen the drink he wanted most.
The two clowns started their verbal sparring again.
Savoring the subtle fruity aroma in his glass, Su Yu aimlessly scanned the bar.
The environment was quiet, with a small stage where a male singer with a guitar sat on a high stool, wearing a shirt and singing with his head down.
The music was retro and melancholic, quite soothing.
Su Yu gently swirled his glass to the rhythm, and as his gaze returned from the stage, it inadvertently caught sight of a familiar figure.
His eyes froze in mid-air.
The figure in the back was wearing a white V-neck shirt, smiling at the man in black beside him.
His smile was clean and gentle, as pure and flawless as jade.
Su Yu recognized him immediately; the man was Su Yan.
He was also extremely familiar with the man beside him, so familiar that he had only seen him last night when he rewatched the video.
The two didn't notice them, continuing to chat and laugh, occasionally taking a few sips of their drinks.
Su Yu stopped swirling his glass.
What a coincidence, running into Su Yan everywhere.
After the two exchanged a few words, Su Yan suddenly stood up and walked towards the restroom.
"Brother Su, what are you looking at?"
Shen Le and Lin Yanjun had been fooling around for a while, and seeing Su Yu staring blankly at one spot, he followed his gaze.
There, sitting alone, was a solitary man.
"You've got your eye on someone?"
Su Yu put down his glass.
"Got my ass, I'm going to find someone, I'll be right back."
Shen Le, inexplicably scolded again, turned to Lin Yanjun.
"What did I do now?"
Lin Yanjun shrugged and spread his hands, indicating he knew nothing.
Shen Le scratched his head.
"Look at him, he went that way, didn't he just like her?"
But Su Yu wasn't really looking for the one sitting down, his target was the one in the restroom.
Since leaving home that day, he hadn't contacted Su Yan.
Su Yu had considered what he mentioned.
But he wasn't heartless.
Ji Yanli hadn't offended him and had been quite nice to him.
Su Yu didn't want to repay kindness with ingratitude, so he put the matter aside while struggling with his feelings.
The restroom was dimly lit, with only the soft sound of running water.
The sound of running water stopped, and the sound of flushing came from the sink.
Su Yan relaxed, zipping up his pants, and turned around, only to be startled by the figure suddenly standing behind him.
He took a step back, almost physically castrating himself.
The person in front of him had a faint smile on their lips, casually putting their hands in their pockets, looking lazy and nonchalant, just like the idle rich kid in his memory.
"Su Yu?"
Steadying his voice, Su Yan's smile replaced the momentary panic on his face.
He coughed lightly and changed his form of address.
"Little brother, what are you doing here?"
Su Yu's smile remained unchanged.
"I came specifically to find you, brother."
It had been a long time since he'd acted so affectedly; so this was what it felt like.
Su Yan guessed what he wanted to say,
"What? Little brother, have you thought of a reply for me?"
"Smart, as expected of my brother. My dad wasn't wrong; you are indeed a hundred times smarter than me."
"If you've thought it through, then let's barter. You give me what I want, and I will naturally give you what you want in return."
Before Su Yan could finish speaking, Su Yu reached into his pocket, casually opened a video in his photo album, and waved it lightly in front of him, a bright smile on his face.
"Brother, you guessed wrong. I'm not here to make a deal with you today."
He had come with bargaining chips to negotiate.
Su Yan paused for three seconds, then immediately recognized the person in the paused video.
He lowered his head and began to laugh, his body shaking.
He laughed for an unknown amount of time, until when he looked up again, his expression completely undisguised.
"Su Yu, I really underestimated you."
