SDS: Chapter 69

"My YanYan—I’ll Protect You" Cong Qiao was taken aback and asked with a troubled expression,  "President Qin, where did you hear this term from?" Cong Qiao let his thoughts run wild— It couldn’t be that someone wanted to disrespect President Qin, could it?  This matter needed to be clarified! From Cong Qiao’s reaction, Qin Zhiyan sensed something.  Could it be that this term had a negative meaning?  But Tang Keyi couldn’t possibly have any ill intentions toward him. Qin Zhiyan replied vaguely,  "I just heard it by chance. Don’t worry about it." Cong Qiao realized he had overstepped but felt too awkward to explain directly. So he tactfully suggested,  "President Qin, maybe you should search it online yourself." ...

MSRBMH Ch 43

Several days had passed since Su Yu returned to the company from the island.

The next morning,

after that night,

when he woke up in the tent, the shocked look in Shen Xingyan's eyes, the closed-eye expressions of Shen Le and Lin Yanjun, and the hesitant expression of Song Yanchu were all vivid in his mind.

At that time, he was being held tightly in Ji Yanli's arms, unable to defend himself.

After returning to the company, Su Yu began to intentionally or unintentionally avoid Ji Yanli.

While Ji Yanli was in the office, he would go to other floors to chat with employees from other departments, even becoming familiar with quite a few.

Mia couldn't find Su Yu several times during this period and had to take on some of the work originally assigned to him.

After catching Su Yu chatting on other floors for what seemed like the umpteenth time,

Mia finally couldn't take it anymore and grabbed him.

Su Yu, grabbed by the collar, could only flutter like a penguin.

He turned back and waved to the marketing department employee he had just been chatting with.

"Let's have lunch together later."

"Brother Su..."

The marketing department guy watched him disappear from sight, swallowing the rest of his words.

Mia led him to the emergency exit before releasing his collar.

"Su Yu, what's wrong with you lately? Don't you want to work anymore?"

Su Yu knew Mia had been doing a lot of work for him recently, so he made a pleading gesture.

"Thank you, Mia, but I really have no choice. How about I buy you some coffee?"

Mia's expression was serious.

"It's not about coffee, you..."

She seemed a little hesitant to finish her sentence, pausing for a long time before finally managing to say it word by word.

"Even though you're President Ji's wife, you still need to hand over your work properly, otherwise it'll be a big problem if something goes wrong."

The word "wife" stuck in her throat, and she breathed a sigh of relief after she finished speaking.

The young man in front of her seemed stunned.

After three minutes, Su Yu exclaimed loudly, "Huh?" and looked at her incredulously.

"What are you saying? No, I can't just work, don't joke like that."

It was one thing for Ji Yanli to yell like that normally, but why was Mia joining in?

Mia felt that the proprietress seemed to be trying to hide something.

"President Ji said it himself, I'm not just speculating."

Su Yu gritted his teeth and clenched his fists.

That damn Ji Yanli... He keeps babbling this nonsense all day long.

When will his brain ever clear up Maybe I should take him to see a doctor again sometime.

"He was just joking with you, don't mind him."

Su Yu chuckled dryly, glanced at the documents in Mia's hand, and reached out to take them.

"Is this for me? I'll take it."

Mia's hand was empty.

She clenched her fist loosely and let it fall to her sides.

Her expression returned to calm.

"Su Yu, I don't know what happened between you and President Ji this time, but you were way too obvious. It's better not to let personal feelings affect your work."

"So obvious?"

Su Yu was taken aback.

Surely not.

He was still perfectly healthy.

He didn't eat with President Ji, and he didn't even stay at his desk.

He'd hide in the bathroom the moment President Ji opened the door.

Mia didn't list these things out, but just looked at him and said,

"Anyway, just be careful. Handle your personal matters privately. The company's partners have run into problems that need to be addressed, and President Ji can't be distracted."

Seeing that she was about to give him another lecture, Su Yu could only nod haphazardly,

"Okay, okay, Sister Mia, I'll definitely remember what you said. You go ahead and get busy."

After Mia left, Su Yu breathed a sigh of relief, leaned against the wall for a while, and then picked up the things in his hand.

They were several contracts that needed Ji Yanli's signature.

He used to be responsible for delivering these things to Ji Yanli, but now he didn't really want to face them…

Oh well, Ji Yanli wouldn't eat him alive!

Su Yu hardened his heart, overcame the strange feelings left by their intimate encounters on the island, and went straight to the president's office floor in the elevator.

Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows onto his workstation, peaceful and warm, seemingly calm and serene.

Ji Yanli wasn't outside either; he wondered if he was in his office.

This floor was extremely quiet, a quietness that made him uneasy.

Su Yu sighed, gripped the document in his hand, and walked towards the office.

Just as he reached the door, he saw it was ajar, a small crack opening.

Strange, Ji Yanli usually kept the door tightly closed.

[Baby, don't knock! There's a bad guy inside!]

[Great opportunity, Su Yu baby, quickly help your husband catch the undercover agent!!]

[Take out your phone and record now!!!]

[So urgent, so urgent, so urgent! I'm King Gigi! If I knock, that person will say they came in to report to President Ji, and everything will be ruined!]

Su Yu's hand, which was about to reach for the door, suddenly stopped.

He frowned, processing the comments.

What did this mean?

Although he didn't understand, his hand reached into his pocket for his phone and turned on the recording function.

[That's it, baby! Put it in! Quickly put your big phone through the small crack in the door!]

Su Yu quietly pressed the record button and slipped the camera under the door.

The moment it peeked out of the room, he saw the image on his phone screen.

Ji Yanli wasn't there.

Instead, there was a familiar-looking man in a black hoodie.

The man was rummaging through a drawer, his forehead beaded with sweat, wearing a mask that obscured his face, but Su Yu felt he looked strangely familiar.

The man seemed to have found nothing and hurriedly closed the drawer.

Sensing he was about to leave, Su Yu quickly put away his phone, grabbed the documents, and pushed open the door.

They met face-to-face.

The man's eyes widened in shock, and he looked away in a panic.

"Assistant Su."

"Who are you? Why are you wearing a mask?"

The man seemed to chuckle through his mask, offering a dry explanation.

"I have a cold. I needed to see President Ji, but he wasn't here, so I left."

He seemed flustered and walked quickly, as if afraid of being caught.

He was very clumsy at committing his crimes.

Su Yu mentally scoffed, then turned away and walked into the office.

Ji Yanli's desk was a complete mess.

He tidied it up casually but didn't see anything he wanted to steal.

He recalled the man's appearance, and it matched a certain detail in his memory.

Right, the man he encountered in the elevator last time…

he seemed to be wearing the same clothes and a mask.

[It's here, Su Yan's undercover agent!]

[That freak! It's this undercover agent! After stealing the documents, he handed them to Su Yan, giving him the opportunity to blackmail President Ji into cooperating with him, and almost causing President Ji's company to suffer a huge loss!]

[Luckily, didn't you just film this person?! Quickly tell your husband the video! Because he's already broken the surveillance cameras!]

Su Yan…

Su Yu immediately realized what this man wanted to steal—something Su Yan had told him about.

He hadn't even given Su Yan an answer yet, and he was already sending someone else to find him.

It seemed he had no sincerity in cooperating at all.
