SDS: Chapter 58
The CEO’s Cross-Country Chase
A careful observer would notice that the photo Qin Zhiyan posted had the same background and clothing as the one Tang Keyi had used for his official announcement.
were clearly taken at the same time.
Qin Zhiyan’s intention was obvious.
While outsiders were speculating about Tang Keyi’s announcement photo, he used this picture to tell everyone exactly how he felt about Tang Keyi.
——
The Qin Residence, early morning on the third day of the Lunar New Year.
Qin Yulin found Qin Zhiyan sitting alone on the sofa in the second-floor lounge, sipping coffee.
"Zhiyan, what are you doing here?"
As Qin Yulin walked past, he happened to glance at Qin Zhiyan’s phone screen and saw that he was looking at a photo of Tang Keyi.
"Seriously? You’ve only been apart for a few days, and you’re already missing him this much?"
Qin Yulin teased as he sat down.
"Honestly, that post you made on WeChat the other day was something else. You really shocked everyone. The icy CEO image you’ve maintained for years has completely crumbled. No one expected you to be so sappy."
"Sappy? I meant every word."
Qin Yulin rolled his eyes.
"You’re hopeless. But at least now no one’s saying Tang Keyi is the one clinging to you anymore."
"If you hear any gossip outside, tell me directly. I don’t want Tang Keyi hearing it and getting upset."
"Got it, got it. You just spoil him."
Qin Yulin noticed Qin Zhiyan was still staring at his phone and complained,
"Hey, it’s just a few photos. Do you really need to look at them for so long?"
Qin Zhiyan looked up, suddenly serious.
"He’s not wearing a shirt."
Qin Yulin recalled Tang Keyi’s recent WeChat posts, which were all beach photos, and said, puzzled,
"He went swimming, right? Isn’t it normal to not wear a shirt? It’s not like he’s not wearing pants."
Qin Zhiyan lowered his gaze to the photos Tang Keyi had sent him, ignoring the blue skies and ocean in the background.
All he could see was Tang Keyi’s radiant smile and his bare shoulders.
It was normal.
But he hadn’t seen it yet.
Qin Zhiyan suddenly remembered Tang Keyi’s inner thoughts from before:
Pale and tender all over.
His eyes darkened further.
Qin Yulin studied Qin Zhiyan’s gloomy expression and realized something.
"Wait, are you seriously this possessive? He’s just shirtless, and you don’t want anyone else to see?"
Qin Zhiyan didn’t answer, thinking back to what Tang Keyi had said during their voice call last night—
that he’d met a group of young people from Haicheng who were vacationing in Nancheng and that they were going out for drinks tonight…
Seeing Qin Zhiyan lost in thought, Qin Yulin teased,
"If you miss him that much, why don’t you just fly over and see him?"
What was meant as a joke struck Qin Zhiyan like a revelation.
He looked up abruptly.
"You’re right. I should go on vacation too."
Qin Yulin was stunned.
"What? I was just kidding!"
But Qin Zhiyan wasn’t joking.
He immediately called Cong Qiao and instructed him to arrange for the private jet right away.
As Qin Zhiyan stood up, Qin Yulin asked,
"Where are you going?"
"To pack."
"You’re really going? You can’t stand being apart from Tang Keyi for even a few days?"
"I just feel like my world has become too quiet."
Qin Zhiyan never thought the day would come when he,
who once found Tang Keyi’s chatter annoying, would now feel unable to live without it.
"If you’re bored, we can go to a bar and have some fun."
"Shut up."
Qin Yulin: "..."
——
Nancheng.
After bundling up in down jackets in the imperial capital for so long, Tang Keyi could finally enjoy a good swim in the ocean.
Last night, while taking a walk on the beach, he happened to run into a group of young people camping out.
They were playing Truth or Dare, and one of the girls came over to ask for his contact info.
Naturally sociable, Tang Keyi quickly hit it off with them.
They had originally planned to go swimming and surfing together the next day, but since Tang Keyi’s family was staying on a private island, he had to decline.
To make up for it, he invited them out for drinks the following evening.
Never one to skimp, Tang Keyi booked a VIP karaoke room and treated everyone to top-shelf liquor.
After just two drinks, he received a message from Qin Zhiyan asking where he was.
So this is what it feels like to be checked up on by your boyfriend, Tang Keyi mused.
He didn’t find it annoying at all. Qin Zhiyan was usually so clingy—now that he was alone in the imperial capital, separated from him, he must be feeling pretty down.
Tang Keyi thought it over. I have to give him all the reassurance he needs!
He immediately sent Qin Zhiyan his location and solemnly promised he wouldn’t drink too much—just a little before heading back.
Staring at the single "Mm" Qin Zhiyan sent in reply,
Tang Keyi couldn’t help but imagine him as the little wife waiting dutifully at home for her husband to return from a night out.
They usually saw each other every day at work and made plans to eat together on weekends.
But now, with so much distance between them and several days before he’d return to the imperial capital, Tang Keyi realized—he kind of missed Qin Zhiyan too.
"Keyi, stop staring at your phone! Come drink!"
Prodded by the urging, Tang Keyi locked his screen and threw himself back into the party.
A few rounds later, his vision began to blur.
That’s weird, he thought hazily.
I haven’t had that much…
Slumping onto the couch, his ears buzzed as if someone was speaking,
but he couldn’t make out the words.
"I didn’t expect his alcohol tolerance to be this good. If I hadn’t prepared the knockout drops in advance, we probably wouldn’t have been able to outdrink him tonight."
"I asked around earlier—he’s a rich kid from the imperial capital. Comes to Haicheng for vacation every year. His family’s loaded. Just look at the drinks he ordered today—I’ve never had anything this fancy in my life."
"If we pull this off tonight, we’ll be set. So, which of you two wants to have a ‘romantic night’ with this young master?"
The two girls exchanged blushing glances, neither daring to speak up.
"Come on, quit dawdling! If you don’t hurry up, I’ll do it myself! This young master looks so delicate and fair—I’m getting tempted myself!"
"I’ll do it,"
one of the girls finally spoke up.
"I was the one who asked for his contact info yesterday, so I’ve interacted with him the most. It’d make more sense for me to be the one to… sleep with him."
"Or we could just rock-paper-scissors for it…"
the other girl muttered, eyeing Tang Keyi’s handsome face unwillingly.
After a brief discussion, the three men made a decision.
"We think Xixi is the better choice. Since she’s more familiar with Tang Keyi, he probably won’t suspect anything when he wakes up tomorrow."
"Xixi, if he’s willing to take responsibility tomorrow, you might just marry into wealth. Don’t forget about us when you do."
Xixi’s face flushed red.
"We’re all in this together. If I really become a young madam, I won’t forget any of you. And even if it doesn’t work out, I’ll make sure to cry, make a scene, and threaten to kill myself. With all of you backing me up, we can extort a huge compensation from him."
The other girl, though reluctant, had no choice but to nod in agreement.
"Alright, it’s settled then. Let’s take him to the hotel next door."
Two of the men hauled Tang Keyi up and carried him out.
