Chapter 135 "Chengyu… Don’t Go."

"Butler Wu, tell everyone not to speak to me today—including you."

In an attempt to circumvent the punishment, Nian Jinsui solemnly instructed Butler Wu.

"Huh? Young Madam, but why?"

Butler Wu looked utterly confused.

"Don’t ask why, just do as I say!"

"But what if I have something important to tell you?"

"You can write it down, send me a message, or use gestures!"

Nian Jinsui was racking his brain for loopholes in the "Obedience to Every Word" punishment.

If no one spoke to him, then there’d be no problem.

So easy!

"Alright."

Butler Wu agreed with an attitude of "I don’t understand, but I’ll respect it."

But then, as if suddenly remembering something, he asked,

"Should I also inform the Second Young Master?"

"...Yes."

Ten thousand alpacas stampeded through Nian Jinsui’s heart.

Of all the things Butler Wu could have asked, why this?

He tried to explain, to stop him, to shake his head, to wave his hands—but his body refused to move, and his voice refused to work.

[Friendly reminder: To ensure the "Obedience to Every Word" punishment is properly enforced, any actions or words resulting from the punishment cannot be revoked or contradicted during its duration.]

"Xi Lü, you’re truly ruthless..."

The system had blocked off every possible escape route.

Nian Jinsui could only swallow his bitterness.

"Butler Wu, thank you…"

Butler Wu, about to reply, suddenly remembered Nian Jinsui’s earlier instructions and immediately sealed his lips, mouthing "You’re welcome" silently instead.

Nian Jinsui: "......"

"Suisui told you I’m not allowed to speak to him today?"

Qin Chengyu’s expression darkened the moment he received Butler Wu’s call.

Butler Wu hurriedly tried to soften the blow.

"Young Madam told all of us not to speak to him today, not just you specifically, Second Young Master."

Unfortunately, this did little to comfort Qin Chengyu.

"Did he say why?"

"No. Young Madam said not to ask him why. Perhaps he’s in a bad mood… Young Master, please don’t take it to heart—"

Qin Chengyu had no patience for Butler Wu’s placating words and hung up abruptly.

Suisui knew he was angry last night—not only did he not try to coax him,

but now he’s even forbidding him from speaking to him today…

A suffocating aura of gloom settled around Qin Chengyu.

His grip on his phone tightened unconsciously, accidentally turning on the screen.

The wallpaper was a photo of him and Nian Jinsui from their skiing trip—both wearing ridiculous turtle-shaped protective gear.

Though comical, it was a memory he cherished deeply.

Originally, the photo had also included Lin Shuquan and Nian Yixin, but Qin Chengyu had selfishly cropped it to only show him and Nian Jinsui, setting it as his wallpaper.

He already has Suisui by his side…

but it’s not enough.

"Suisui… what should I do?"

"I don’t just want you by my side—I want your heart too. Am I being too greedy…?"

His voice was barely a whisper as he lowered his lashes, forcing back the sting in his nose.

Nian Jinsui had assumed Qin Chengyu would return for lunch and immediately demand an explanation—likely in his usual unhinged manner.

But to his surprise, Qin Chengyu didn’t come back at all.

A pang of unease struck him.

This isn’t like Qin Chengyu.

Is something urgent keeping him busy?

After wrestling with his thoughts, Nian Jinsui decided to call and ask.

Qin Chengyu picked up almost immediately.

"Suisui, what’s wrong?"

His voice sounded normal—no trace of anything amiss. Nian Jinsui asked,

"Nothing, I just wanted to ask why you didn’t come back for lunch."

"Work kept me busy, so I won’t be back for meals today. Eat without me."

"...Alright."

"Was there anything else?"

"I wanted to say that I—"

didn’t actually mean for you not to talk to me—

But halfway through, Nian Jinsui suddenly went mute.

His lips moved, yet no sound came out.

Clearly, the system was interfering.

"Suisui?"

"Never mind…"

Nian Jinsui sighed in defeat.

"Just focus on your work. We’ll talk when you get back."

"Okay."

After hanging up, Nian Jinsui didn’t feel reassured—if anything, his chest felt heavier.

Qin Chengyu didn’t lose his temper?

That’s… not right.

Thinking back, Qin Chengyu’s behavior had been off since last night.

The more Nian Jinsui dwelled on it, the more uneasy he became.

Qin Chengyu was prone to overthinking—sensitive, self-destructive, and emotionally fragile.

Just look at how easily he racked up those psychological damage points before.

This abnormal calmness had to mean something was wrong.

No. I can’t wait until tomorrow.

Even with the punishment looming, he couldn’t delay this.

The moment Qin Chengyu returned tonight, he had to make things right.

With his mind made up, Nian Jinsui finally relaxed slightly.

At least with Butler Wu staying silent, he could control his own portions at lunch.

After eating, he holed up in his room to avoid any unnecessary conversations, barely making it to dinner—only to find Qin Chengyu still hadn’t returned.

This time, before Nian Jinsui could call, Qin Chengyu messaged first, again citing work and telling him to eat without waiting.

Nian Jinsui’s heart sank.

This time… it might be really hard to coax him back.

That night, Nian Jinsui stayed in the room, freshly showered, pretending to read a novel while waiting for Qin Chengyu.

But the words blurred together—he couldn’t focus at all.

As time crawled by, his anxiety grew.

Is he not coming back tonight?

Finally, just past 10 PM, the sound of the door opening reached him.

When Qin Chengyu stepped inside, Nian Jinsui exhaled in relief.

"Chengyu, why are you back so late?"

"Work ran long. I’ll shower first."

"Oh."

Watching Qin Chengyu disappear into the bathroom, Nian Jinsui felt time slow to a torturous crawl.

Every second was agony.

The moment Qin Chengyu stepped out, Nian Jinsui opened his mouth to speak—only to see him stride straight toward the bedroom door.

Alarmed, Nian Jinsui called out,

"Chengyu, where are you going?"

Qin Chengyu paused slightly.

"Didn’t you say I wasn’t allowed to speak to you today? If you don’t want to see me, I won’t disturb you tonight."

Nian Jinsui’s eyes trembled.

The moment Qin Chengyu moved to leave, panic surged through him.

In a rush, he lunged forward and wrapped his arms around Qin Chengyu from behind.

"Chengyu… don’t go."
