SDS: Chapter 12

"Don’t Take It Off—Don’t Let Him See!"

After the massage session ended and the masseurs had left,

Tang Keyi finally revealed his plan:

"I'm thinking of working for a while longer, then telling Grandma that I've given up in the face of difficulties. I'll put on an act like I'm nursing a broken heart—Grandma will definitely feel sorry for me and won't have the heart to force me into blind dates."

"Everyone in our circle is going crazy over you becoming Qin Zhiyan's assistant."

"The gossip mill never stops. Let them talk."

"I bet Li Mingxing has been mocking you nonstop."

"When has that guy ever said anything nice about me? He's just jealous of my looks! Just because he never won 'School Hunk' back in the day—it's not like I voted for myself. The masses have sharp eyes—how's that my fault?"

Han Qiuqiu stretched lazily and said,

"If Qin Zhiyan weren't exactly three years older than us and never attended the same schools, the title wouldn't have been just between you two anyway."

Tang Keyi immediately bristled.

"Are you saying my face can't compete with Qin Zhiyan's?"

"You two have completely different styles. The 'School Hunk' title was voted on by girls, and they prefer his icy, untouchable type. Obviously."

"Pfft."

Tang Keyi clearly disagreed.

"Then what's my type?"

Han Qiuqiu glanced at Tang Keyi's expectant expression and humored him:

"You're the radiant young master—luxurious as peonies, delicate as orchids."

Tang Keyi hmphed in satisfaction, then added,

"Come to think of it, I haven't seen Li Mingxing in months. He didn't even show up at your grandfather's birthday last time."

Han Qiuqiu smirked meaningfully.

"I was just about to tell you—Li Mingxing resurfaced a few days ago. Looks... different."

Tang Keyi caught on instantly.

"You mean he disappeared to get work done?"

"If nature didn't gift him your looks, technology would help him surpass you. Rumor has it the results are impeccable—looks completely natural."

"Still can't beat my all-natural perfection."

"Yes, yes, we all know you're heaven-sent."

Han Qiuqiu rolled his eyes.

"Next time I see Li Mingxing, I'm definitely teasing him mercilessly."

He then added,

"Also, now that Qin Zhiyan's back in the country for good and even let you—his so-called admirer—be his assistant, some people in our circle are getting... ideas."

This kind of thing was common in their social sphere.

Tang Keyi shrugged.

"Qin Zhiyan's been steering the Qin family for years. You think he wouldn't see through such obvious schemes?"

"You never know. We've heard plenty of stories about big shots tripping over trivial traps. Take Li Mingxing's uncle—he's a heavyweight in business, right? Yet he fell for a wine salesgirl's honey trap. Utterly humiliating."

"He's nowhere near Qin Zhiyan's level."

"Enough about Qin Zhiyan."

Han Qiuqiu stood up, stretching.

"I feel fantastic now—let's go sweat it out in the sauna."

He stripped off his massage robe,

wrapped a towel around his waist,

and threw on a bathrobe.

Tang Keyi changed as well,

but when they reached their usual sauna room,

they were met with two familiar faces.

"Qin Yulin! What are you doing here?"

Han Qiuqiu's eyebrows knitted together at the sight of those smiling peach-blossom eyes.

"I'm here with Zhiyan. Why can't we be here?"

Qin Yulin looked utterly unruffled, as if he'd expected this.

[Speak of the devil...]

Qin Zhiyan's gaze landed on Tang Keyi's slightly evasive expression.

Talking about me behind my back again?

What this time?

Noticing Qin Zhiyan's stare,

Tang Keyi quickly greeted,

"President Qin."

"Hm."

Qin Zhiyan responded indifferently.

All four men in the room knew this wasn't a coincidence.

Qin Yulin and Han Qiuqiu had dated for a year—

he definitely knew Han Qiuqiu's habits.

Qin Yulin shot Tang Keyi a meaningful look:

I brought Qin Zhiyan here for you.

Now help me out with Han Qiuqiu.

Tang Keyi's lips twitched.

Exchanging a glance with Han Qiuqiu,

he realized walking away now would be too rude—

especially with Qin Zhiyan present.

Reluctantly,

they entered the sauna and sat across from Qin Yulin and Qin Zhiyan,

putting as much distance as possible between them.

Just as Tang Keyi was about to remove his robe,

Han Qiuqiu stopped him.

Confused, Tang Keyi looked over.

Han Qiuqiu muttered awkwardly,

"Don't take it off. No free shows for Qin Yulin."

The room was small—even a whisper couldn't escape anyone's ears.

"Qiuqiu, you make me sound like some kind of pervert,"

Qin Yulin complained.

"Aren't you?"

Han Qiuqiu retorted coldly.
