Ch 2 : The Ge'er's Escape

With a mere lift of his hand, a document appeared in his grasp.  “Is this what you mean, Village Chief?” He handed the document over. The Village Chief reached out, took it, opened it, and examined it carefully.  “Exactly this.” After reviewing it, he returned the document to the man and turned to address the villagers, clarifying the man's identity.  “Ling Cang, from the capital. His family has been in trade for generations.” The Clan Leader nodded upon hearing this.  “If that's the case, then the young man may reside temporarily in Yunxi Village.” “Thank you very much then,”  Divine Emperor Ling Cang said with a smile, cupping his hands in thanks. His smile was like a warm spring breeze, dazzling everyone present. “Might there be any uninhabited houses in the village? I would like to purchase one,”  Ling Cang asked with a smile. Before entering the mortal realm, he had observed this area; the scenery was excellent and it seemed a good place for living and...

SDS: Chapter 05

"Is He About to Punch Me?!"

Qin Yulin watched as Qin Zhiyan abruptly stood up,

his expression stormy, and strode toward the door.

"Zhiyan, where are you going?"

Yulin called out, bewildered.

The others in the private room—all members of the Qin family’s inner circle—

exchanged nervous glances.

"President Qin looks like he’s about to throw hands. Should we follow?"

"If he’s going after Tang Keyi, we’re screwed! The Tangs would skin us alive if their precious heir gets hurt!"

Yulin slapped his thigh and rushed after him.

The moment the heavy door swung open,

the deafening music and raucous laughter from the next room surged in like a tidal wave.

Zhiyan’s frown deepened.

Amid the sea of bodies, his gaze zeroed in on Tang Keyi—lounging in the center of the room,

an arm slung around a friend’s shoulders, laughing as he downed another shot.

Someone near the entrance spotted him first.

"Who the—holy shit! President Qin?!"

The exclamation barely registered over the noise.

Zhiyan’s voice cut through like a blade.

"Turn. The music. Off."

"Y-Yes! Right away!"

The abrupt silence drew groans of protest—until Keyi,

already tipsy, shoved himself up from the couch.

"The hell?! Turn it back on! We’re partying till dawn!"

"It—it was President Qin’s order..."

"What ‘President Qin’? Who dares crash my party—?!"

Keyi’s drunken bravado evaporated the second his eyes landed on the towering figure in the doorway.

His face drained of color.

"Q-Qin Zhiyan?!"

At the same time, Zhiyan heard Keyi’s inner voice:

[He’s here to wreck my night?!]

[Does he know it’s me?!]

[Can I still make a run for it?!]

"Zhiyan, let’s talk this out—no violence!"

Yulin’s frantic shout announced his arrival, followed by a crowd of onlookers.

Now, nearly half the elite youth of the capital were crammed into the VIP room,

guaranteeing tonight’s drama would spread like wildfire.

[Oh god, he does recognize me!]

[Is he really here to beat me up?! Why me?!]

[Did he come just for me? That’s overkill!]

Zhiyan’s icy stare pinned Keyi in place.

Despite the alcohol-flushed cheeks, Keyi forced a composed smile.

"President Qin! What an honor. Care to join us for a drink?"

[Say no! Say you got the wrong room! Leave!]

[He looks murderous—will anyone even dare to help me?!]

[I swear, I’ll never skip veggies again, I’ll wake up early—just make him disappear!]

The sheer dissonance between Keyi’s polished facade and

his panicked inner monologue amused Zhiyan.

Now you’re scared?

Too late.

"No need."

Zhiyan’s deep voice sliced through the tension.

"Your party’s too crowded."

[YES! LEAVE! GOODBYE FOREVER!]

Keyi’s relief lasted exactly one second before Zhiyan added:

"Why don’t you join me in my private room instead?"

Keyi: !!!

[F*CK.]

[This is a premeditated murder setup.]

[If I call the police now, will they arrive before I’m a corpse?]

"I—I’ve got guests to host!"

Keyi stammered.

"Maybe… next time?"

Zhiyan’s gaze swept the room.

"Do you need him to host you?"

A collective shiver ran through the crowd.

"Nope! Not at all! Go ahead, Tang Shao!"

"Then, Young Master Tang—shall we?"

Their eyes met.

Keyi saw no room for negotiation.

He turned stiffly toward Han Qiuqiu, silently screaming with his eyes.

Qiuqiu took a deep breath.

I can’t abandon my best friend.

Surely, even Qin Zhiyan wouldn’t risk offending the Tang and Han families over this…

right?

"President Qin,"

Qiuqiu stood,

"Keyi’s drunk. Let me come along to—"

Before Zhiyan could respond, Yulin cut in.

"This is a private chat. Stay out of it."

He smirked.

"Besides, Tang Shao seems very sober to me."

Zhiyan arched a brow.

"Is Tang Shao… refusing my invitation?"

The threat in his tone sent chills down every spine.

"O-Of course not…"

Keyi’s legs moved against his will, carrying him toward certain doom.

[Someone! Anyone! Save me and I’ll split my allowance with you!]

[Qiuqiu! HELP!]

Qiuqiu, as if hearing his plea, lunged—only for Yulin to yank him back.

"Zhiyan won’t kill him. Stay out of it."

"Let go, you ex-boyfriend! I’ll sue you for harassment!"

Qiuqiu struggled, but Yulin’s grip was unshakable.

"Feisty. Breakups do suit you."

……

Keyi closed his eyes.

[Well. Burn lots of paper money for me next year.]

The private room door clicked shut, leaving only Zhiyan and Keyi inside.
