Chapter 98 Is the Qin Family About to Change?

“I was just finishing an article, and the deadline is tight. I didn’t mean to worry you, Grandpa,”

Qin Chengyu explained.

Qin Zhuo frowned slightly.

“Isn’t it summer vacation? What assignments do you have left?”

“It’s an article for a friend. He asked me to analyze the current investment market and its trends. I’ve almost finished it. Since you’re here, could you help me take a look? If there’s anything wrong, I’ll revise it right away,”

Qin Chengyu said, placing his laptop in front of Qin Zhuo with a sincere attitude.

Qin Zhuo instantly recognized Qin Chengyu’s intentions—he was trying to show off,

thinking he had some skill and wanted to impress him.

What could a university student possibly know about the investment market?

Most likely, it would be just some superficial talk from small websites or public accounts.

Still, Qin Zhuo decided to take this opportunity to see what Qin Chengyu was capable of.

At best, he was a mediocre Beta; what achievements could he possibly have?

“Alright, let me take a look,”

Qin Zhuo said casually.

Wu, the housekeeper, immediately took the laptop and placed it in front of Qin Zhuo.

As Qin Zhuo scanned the article, he was initially surprised to see that it was written in English.

It was difficult to write such an analysis in a foreign language,

let alone include professional business terminology.

The more he read, the more surprised he became.

The article was insightful, well-reasoned, and covered many fresh perspectives.

It was sharp and to the point, something even Qin Zhuo himself couldn’t have written.

Could this really be written by Qin Chengyu?

Qin Zhuo briefly entertained the thought but quickly dismissed it.

If even he couldn’t write at that level,

how could Qin Chengyu possibly have someone ghostwrite for him?

“Chengyu…”

Qin Zhuo paused and, trying to sound casual, asked,

“Who is this friend you’re writing for?”

Qin Chengyu’s gaze remained calm.

“You might know him, Grandpa. He’s the editor-in-chief of FORTUNE, Schottel.”

Qin Zhuo’s eyes widened slightly in surprise.

Although he was familiar with Schottel, they weren’t exactly close.

How did Qin Chengyu come to know him?

But he didn’t let his surprise show, responding instead with indifference.

“Well written. I don’t think there’s any issue with it.”

“Thank you, Grandpa,”

Qin Chengyu said gratefully.

Despite his confusion, Qin Zhuo didn’t press for answers.

He simply said,

“Since you’re done, you should rest now. I’ll be heading to my room.”

“Please take care, Grandpa.”

“Mm.”

Qin Zhuo turned to leave,

and Wu immediately handed the laptop back to Qin Chengyu before following him out.

As soon as Qin Zhuo was out of the room, his demeanor changed.

He turned sharply to Wu and demanded,

“Wu, do you have no respect for my grandson?”

Wu was startled, immediately responding,

“Of course not, Mr. Qin!”

“He’s been back for so long, and no one has bothered to clean his room?”

“It must have been an oversight by the staff. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure someone goes to clean it immediately.”

Qin Zhuo’s face darkened.

“Wu, sometimes Muyun and Chengluo are reckless, but you, as the housekeeper, can’t let them pull the strings. Chengyu is my grandson. You should be looking out for him more.”

“Understood, Mr. Qin,”

Wu replied hastily, his mind already elsewhere.

Wu could not help but wonder:

How could Qin Zhuo not have known about the circumstances Qin Chengyu had faced in the family for all these years?

Had Qin Zhuo truly been blind to the situation,

or was he only now playing the role of a loving grandfather because of that article?

Was the Qin family about to change?

It seemed unlikely. Mr. Qin valued the Alpha bloodline above all else.

Even if Qin Chengyu was talented, he was still a Beta and could never surpass the eldest son.

At that moment, Qin Zhuo’s words interrupted Wu’s thoughts.

“Wu, has Chengyu really changed so much? I remember him being so thin and small. Now he’s grown into quite a tall figure.”

Qin Zhuo pondered, remembering how Qin Chengyu used to be quiet, gloomy, and almost invisible.

But now, he seemed calm, composed, and capable of achieving something significant.

“Indeed, Mr. Qin, I barely recognized the Second Young Master today. He has changed a lot,”

Wu agreed, noticing that not only had Qin Chengyu grown taller,

but his overall presence seemed different too.

“Looks like Nian Yixin’s praise of him wasn’t unwarranted…”

Qin Zhuo said, his sharp eyes glinting.

He then pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

“Luo Qiao, I want you to look into Qin Chengyu. I want to know what he’s been doing all these years that I don’t know about.”

Later that night, in the Qin family.

“Luo Qiao, how’s the investigation going?”

Qin Zhuo asked casually, sipping his tea, not even looking up.

Luo Qiao, Qin Zhuo’s assistant, stood rigidly in front of him, a man in his early thirties,

dressed in a sharp suit and carrying an air of seriousness.

“Mr. Qin, from what I gathered, the Second Young Master has been involved in the investment world since high school, but only in overseas markets. He never participated in the domestic market. It appears he is self-taught, having started small and worked his way up to become a well-known investor in overseas markets, with no losses to speak of. He’s truly exceptional.”

“Never participated in the domestic market?”

Qin Zhuo raised an eyebrow, lightly chuckling.

“It seems he’s been avoiding me. But now, why is he suddenly bringing it to my attention?”

“Also, Mr. Qin, the Second Young Master ranked first in his major this semester. His previous grades were always average.”

“Looks like he didn’t plan on hiding his talents anymore. He must have been keeping it under wraps all these years,”

Qin Zhuo said thoughtfully, looking at Luo Qiao.

“What do you think, Luo Qiao? Which of my two grandsons would be more suitable to take over the Qin family?”

Luo Qiao paused before replying,

“Mr. Qin, didn’t you already decide to make the eldest young master the heir to the Qin family?”
