Lin Shuqian took the document, and as he glanced at it, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.
He immediately exchanged a look with Nian Yixin, and both of them shared the same confusion.
The new project from the Qin family was in their field of expertise.
Their company could handle it easily without needing to collaborate with others.
However,
Nian's company was relatively weak in this area and had been struggling to make breakthroughs, though their technical capabilities were still lacking.
Even if Qin's family needed a partner, they shouldn’t be considering them.
Could it be that Qin Chengyu, who had just taken over the Qin family business,
was still unfamiliar with the industry, which led to this mistake?
Lin Shuqian hesitated before speaking:
“Chengyu, perhaps you don’t realize, but if Nian’s company joins this project, we might not be able to contribute much…”
“It’s fine, Qin's family will provide technical sharing,”
Qin Chengyu casually replied.
Lin Shuqian and Nian Yixin were stunned.
Nian Yixin quickly asked,
“Does Chairman Qin know about this?”
“Grandfather gave me full authority to handle this,”
Qin Chengyu replied.
At this point, Lin Shuqian and Nian Yixin understood.
It turned out that Qin Chengyu wasn’t looking for a partner.
He was there to make an offer.
Considering the financial strength of both the Qin and Nian families, any material resources that could be measured in money were insignificant.
The real value came from the technical sharing, which could greatly aid the development of new fields for their companies.
Nian Yixin, however, still hesitated.
“Chengyu, it’s a kind gesture, but this gift is a bit too valuable.”
“This is just a small token of my appreciation. Compared to Jin Sui, this is nothing,”
Qin Chengyu said sincerely.
Nian Yixin felt Qin Chengyu’s sincerity and agreed, looking at Lin Shuqian.
“Shuqian, what do you think?”
Lin Shuqian still had some concerns.
“Chengyu, but if you do this, I worry that some people in your group might object.”
“Uncle Lin, don’t worry. I will take care of it,”
Qin Chengyu said lightly, his eyes revealing an unspoken resolve.
He had just taken charge, and naturally, many people in the group would oppose or underestimate him. Moreover, Qin Zhuo had not fully delegated power, so Qin Chengyu still faced many limitations within the Qin family.
This opportunity was just the right moment to test the waters and identify who among the group might still be restless.
Having worked in business for so long, Lin Shuqian saw the confidence in Qin Chengyu’s eyes and guessed that he had a plan. He decided to set aside his worries and nodded in agreement.
“Alright, then. I look forward to our successful cooperation.”
“Likewise.”
“By the way, Chengyu, I heard from Jin Sui that it was you who sent Xiang Liumei abroad. We investigated her movements before, but found no trace. Is it you...?”
Nian Yixin trailed off, but everyone in the room understood what he was implying.
“Uncle Nian, don’t worry, I’ve handled it,”
Qin Chengyu replied earnestly.
“I know you and Uncle Lin would prefer to deal with her personally, but if it weren’t for her, Jin Sui and I wouldn’t be in this situation. I don’t want to let her off the hook either, but please understand.”
Nian Yixin and Lin Shuqian exchanged a glance.
While it wasn’t ideal to not handle Xiang Liumei personally, hearing Qin Chengyu’s words, they understood it was for Jin Sui’s sake, and they agreed without further reproach.
“I’d appreciate it if you could keep this from Jin Sui. I don’t want to affect his mood,”
Nian Yixin added.
“Jin Sui values cleanliness, and I’ll handle the dirty work myself. Please, don’t let it reach his ears.”
“Of course,” Lin Shuqian responded.
After addressing the matter at hand, the conversation fell into silence. After exchanging pleasantries, there wasn’t much more to discuss.
Qin Chengyu was a man of few words, and with Nian Jin Sui usually present to keep the conversation going, his absence now made it clear how important Nian Jin Sui was.
Fortunately, Ning Liang’an came downstairs at that moment. Nian Yixin, seeing his opportunity, quickly spoke up:
“Liang’an, you and Chengyu were classmates, right? Go talk to him for a while. Your father and I will go to the study to discuss the project details.”
Nian Yixin thought, without Jin Sui, he couldn’t think of anything more to say to Qin Chengyu.
“Mr. Qin, welcome,”
Ning Liang’an greeted Qin Chengyu politely.
Qin Chengyu nodded.
“Mr. Nian.”
He had heard that Ning Liang’an had resumed using the Nian family name.
